Historic Diriyah Fort — Local services in Riyadh Region

As I walked into the Old Town of Diriyah, I felt like I had stepped back in time, surrounded by warm mud bricks and the sounds of my footsteps echoing. The air was filled with the sweet smell of Saudi coffee and dates, a comforting mix that wrapped around me. I looked at the sandy buildings, their unique patterns shining in the sunlight,contrasting with the bright blue sky above. the way the buildings blend with the nature makes you feel as one with the place. The sounds of people chatting and laughing mixed with vendors calling me over to try their goods at their food and drinks carts. My stomach rumbled at the delicious smell of freshly baked flatbreads, warm and inviting. After paying with my riyal coins I took a bite, the spices filled my mouth with rich flavors, making me feel awake and connected to this place. I spotted artisans at work, skillfully crafting pottery and weaving beautiful fabric their hands busy and focused. Diriyah is a blend of two beautifully built and renovated zones: Bujairi Terrace and At-Turaif.

Bujairi Terrace features various high-end restaurants and dining areas with a wonderful ambiance. Prices are on the higher side, and it’s advisable to book a table in advance through the official "Visit Diriyah" website.

At-Turaif, on the other hand, is a restored historic district showcasing Saudi Arabia’s rich heritage. It includes parks, a few museums, walkable streets, and a stunning mosque. Since it’s an open-air area, dress according to the weather, and wear comfortable walking shoes for exploring.

#Repost @dreambiggeralmodjnagyobbat Diriyah települése Rijád mellett fekszik, mára teljesen egybeépült a fővárossal. Az itt található At-Turaif negyed a Szaúdi Királyság születésének helyszíne és első fővárosa. Az egykori főváros romterülete ma már az UNESCO által létrehozott Világörökség része.🏛️

Praktikus információk (mentsd el ezt a posztot, ha tervezel Szaúd-Arábiába utazni):⬇️

A régészeti terület alapos körbejárása legalább 3-4 órát igényel. A romok egy részét már helyreállították, egyes helyeken pedig jelenleg is zajlanak az építkezések, felújítások. Néhány épületben különböző kiállítások kaptak helyet, melyeken keresztül jobban megismerhetjük a szaúdi kultúrát. A romokat egy, éttermekből és boltokból álló komplexumon (Bujairi Terrace) keresztül lehet megközelíteni, ahová online regisztrációval lehet belépni. Két idősáv van: egy délelőtti/délutáni és egy esti. Az előbbi ingyenes, míg az utóbbi fizetős, de ezt az összeget le lehet fogyasztani a Bujairi Terrace éttermeiben. Diriyah könnyedén megközelíthető Rijádból busszal vagy taxival, de ha autóval érkeztek, ahogy mi is tettük, akkor a parkolás is könnyen megoldható a hatalmas teremgarázsban, amit a romterület mellé építettek.🚘

Érdemes tenni ide egy félnapos kirándulást, ha Rijádban jártok, számunkra szuper élmény volt, és noha igyekeznek fellendíteni a turizmust, jelenleg még itt is alig vannak külföldi turisták, így a légkör abszolút élvezhető és autentikus.✨
