Huge disappointment.
Big fan of Thai cuisine, and love seeing modern takes on it and really rooting that they succeed in the Kingdom.
I don't know if the menu is usually like this or because it's Ramadan, but it is extremely limited. I'm not talking about the pre-fixed Ramadan menu, but rather their a la carte options.
First, never have I ever been to a Thai restaurant that couldn't accommodate making a chicken pad Thai instead of prawn pad Thai because all their chicken is 'already marinated for other dishes'. And their only other starchy option was also prawn only, prawn fried rice. The manager tried to accommodate but the chef refused. Very poor menu curation.
We ordered 3 dishes:
Deep-fried chicken (dry) Stir fry beef, their take on kaprow/grapow (decent, fried egg was a great addition) Dry green curry of beef (awful)
The sauce that came with the fried chicken made it edible. Otherwise it was way too dry. The green curry beef was totally unenjoyable.. I really wanted to like it, but there was a bitter taste that just over-powered the dish. Could not eat more than 2 pieces. I couldn't get rid of the taste in my mouth fast enough.
The stir fry beef was the only thing I could recommend ordering. But isn't something I would come back for.
Oh and their mocktail, the palm beach swizzle, should just be called a pineapple juice, because that's all I could taste.
The service and ambiance was great. Other than that, don't really have anything...
Read moreLong Chim is a culinary oasis, a Thai delight nestled in the heart of Saudi Arabia. From the moment you step through the doors, you're transported to the vibrant streets of Bangkok. Our family, including two young boys, recently indulged in a feast at Long Chim, and it was nothing short of extraordinary.
The sticky rice and mango danced on our taste buds, a perfect balance of sweet and fragrant. The chicken satay was succulent and grilled to perfection, while the Thai chicken basil delivered a punch of flavors that left us craving more. And oh, the shrimp satay! Each bite was a symphony of spices and freshness.
But it's not just the food that sets Long Chim apart; it's the entire experience. The ambiance, the service, the attention to detail—all impeccable. Our boys were not just diners; they were young adventurers exploring a new culinary world, one bite at a time.
Our recent dining experience was elevated by the impeccable service of Nihal, a waiter who went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met.
Nihal's patience with our energetic sons was truly commendable. He engaged them with warmth and attentiveness, making them feel welcome and valued throughout our meal.
Long Chim has earned its rightful place as the best Thai restaurant in Saudi, hands down. My kids and I can't wait to return for another unforgettable...
Read moreDear Long Chim Management,
I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the service I received during my visit to your restaurant on January 3rd. I had a reservation at 6:30 PM and was looking forward to an enjoyable dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations.
During my meal, I was served a Sticky Mango Rice Pudding that shockingly contained a hair. This is not only unacceptable but also deeply concerning from a hygiene and food safety perspective. When I brought this to the attention of the waiter, the dessert was merely removed from the bill, which is standard practice given that we did not consume it. However, what truly surprised me was the lack of any apology or acknowledgment of the situation.
This dismissive response was both unprofessional and disappointing. I expected better service and a more thoughtful approach to handling such an unpleasant incident. Dining at Long Chim should be a positive experience, but this lack of care has left me questioning the restaurant's commitment to customer satisfaction and hygiene standards.
I hope this feedback prompts a review of how such situations are handled in the future. I would appreciate knowing how you plan to address this issue to prevent similar experiences for...
