Altopiano — Restaurant in Riyadh Region

I booked through the website and paid before hand unfortunately when I came I was presented with a table in the back near the kitchen were the smell was very obvious when I saw outside seating and pointed it out to the hostess she refused saying people came earlier and reserved it ? What’s the point of having a paid booked reservation + that there’s a note section in the booking I should have wrote there that I wanted outdoor seating , if anyone can have a table without pay what’s the point of reserving before hand and paying ? . 2nd thing I wanted pizza and it wasn’t available which is odd for an Italian restaurant why have it on the menu if not there ( I came at 6:00 pm not early ) . 3rd their risotto which as per them is a best seller was over cooked. We were served by a tall, brown skinned waiter, he was not interested in serving us. Took all the time in the world to clean the table as i AM standing waiting, AND used a dried, dirty cloth, i asked him nicely to wipe the table again with detergent, he complained that the cloth is “wet”, appeared unimpressed but nodded. The table still smelled like food from the table before, we waited for 10 mins for him yet he did not clean it again UNTIL we asked someone to tell him for the THIRD TIME. Also, when i asked the woman by the door to ask him to clean it again he came and said “stand up. “ in an order tone to us so he can clean?? We also asked for a drink that did not arrive until after we finished eating. Very low-class service, did not expect a 900SAR bill restaurant to treat us this way. I found this restaurant through the Bujairi website as it was the only one offering a table on that day. We received a nice welcome at the entrance, but unfortunately, the same receptionist who greeted us initially took us to a poorly located and broken table. Despite our protest, she initially refused to change it, but later felt ashamed and accommodated our request. This incident was indicative of the overall service experience, which unfortunately continued to disappoint.

Our orders were not properly taken, and the dishes arrived all at once, contrary to our request for the salad to be served first followed by the main dish. The waiter, although polite, apologized for the confusion, citing his newness and limited understanding of English. Despite these service shortcomings, the food itself was superb.
