I frequently used to gamble at Galaxy Moffet on Main however, after the incident that occurred in the casino last night, I don't plan on ever visiting that casino again.
Last night I've played one of their newish machines located in the non-smoking area. On the game, I have won the bonus and had to choose which number of games and multiplier I would like in my bonus game. I attempted to pick my usual set (either 15 to 10 games) but the screen refused to work when touched (touchscreen game with no buttons to choose alternatively).
Upon failing to pick my desired set of free games, I called for a casino attendant that came to assist along with another lady which I later found out was the manager. The casino attendant examined the machine and gave me two options; either reset the machine which could take up to 30 minutes, or pick the mystery set of free games (last option). Having played the game before and being comfortable with my 15 or 10 set as mentioned above, I asked her to please reset the machine, I will wait. The casino attendant was annoyed by my waiting response and proceeded to try resetting the machine while having a conversation in Zulu about, "the psychology around the freegames" which I chose to ignore as their conversation (manager and casino attendant) is none of my concern.
Five minutes later, the machine had resetted but the part of screen I needed to pick my freegames was still not working. The casino attendant then decides to talk to me about, "the psychology around the freegames and that choosing less/mystery games results in bigger wins" to which I have responded that I am well aware of how these games work and when I play this game, I personally prefer to choose the set of 15 or 10, and not the mystery bonus.
The casino attendant was unimpressed by my response as I refused to give in to choosing her mystery request. The lady then tells me she can't do anything else and that my only choice is to pick the mystery set. I then asked her if she forces all of her customers that play this game to choose the last set as the screen does not work to which the casino attendant and manager looked at me dumbfounded.
I then asked if I could perhaps see another casino attendant to which the attendant in an attitude said that I am the only casino attendant and this is the manager ( at this point, both these ladies were heavily annoyed at me and the situation).
The manager then tells, "no we are having some trouble with this game and customers weren't supposed to play it". I then asked her, "where is the sign or notice on the machine informing gamblers that this is machine is out of order?"
Once again, they were startled and the manager says, "we are getting to it and will place up a notice".
Having assessed the situation and coming to the conclusion that these women aren't able to assist me and that it's their way or the high way at this point, I just said that there's not point in creating a bigger scene and was forced to press the mystery bonus of which I've won a pathetic low amount of money (this is why I prefer the 15 or 10 set over the mystery).
After leaving the game, nobody bothered to keep their word and place up an out of order sign on the game thereby indicating that the workers are aware that the machine is faulty but is fine with deceiving future customers as they would just try to persuade future customers to pick one set of free games over their actual choice.
To the rude and incompetent casino night manager and the lady attendant, kindly get an attitude adjustment and training on how to approach and deal with customers and complaints as well as how to fix machines.
I as well as other customers have gambled for years and we know how games work or else we would have seeked help in playing games; it is not your responsibility to persuade or force customers to limit their options because you cannot do your job properly.

Read moreHi Galaxy Bingo Moffat on Main team,
First off, I want to say how much I appreciate the warm, friendly service from your staff and managersâeveryone is polite, attentive, and clearly committed to making guests feel welcome. The food you serve is consistently high-quality, too, and adds a lot to the overall experience.
Staff can make or break your business, and youâve assembled a winning team. Every interactionâfrom the moment I walk in to when I cash outâreflects genuine care and professionalism. Please pass along my compliments to each and every team member; their hard work truly elevates the entire experience.
That said, I have two areas of constructive feedback that I hope youâll consider:
Air conditioning issues Right now, the heat in the main gaming area is extremeâso much so that I feel like a â50âyearâold teenager at a raveâ or someone forced to peel off layer after layer just to be comfortable. I worry this isnât just unpleasant but could pose a health and safety risk, especially for staff who have to work long shifts in the heat. Could you arrange for your HVAC contractors to come in after hours for a thorough service or upgrade? It would make a world of difference for everyoneâs comfortâand safety.
Slot machine settings I totally get that gambling means you canât guarantee Big Wins every time. But right now it feels like the machines take out huge sums with very little return, which can be discouraging. A slightly more generous payout structureâeven small, frequent winsâwould keep the gaming experience fun and engaging. In the long run, I believe rather âtaking a little from manyâ will keep more customers playing, coming back, and ultimately contributing more to your bottom line than extracting large amounts from a few.
If you could sort out these two problem areas, I honestly donât think youâd have much...
Read moreWe enjoyed a great breakfast at Galaxy Bingo situated in the Moffat on Main lifestyle centre in Port Elizabeth. We were 4 people sitting at a big table. After our meal we sat talking. The manager approached us and asked us if need anything else. We said no we are done but we are just chatting for awhile. Later he came back and without saying anything shoved/pushed a reserve sign on our table. This to me was extremely rude and spoiled our whole eating experience. He obviously has no people skills. All had to do was to ask us politely to move to a smaller table and we would have obliged. Dont think they will...
