An Unforgettable Brunch at One of the City's Best Hidden Gems – BLACK
Tucked away in a location that’s easy to miss, Black is a true hidden gem that more people need to know about. We visited for brunch and were absolutely blown away. From the moment we reached the top of the staircase, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism. The moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere truly took our breath away—chic, stylish, and effortlessly elegant with ambient lighting and modern décor that set the perfect mood. We chose to sit outside and bask in the sunshine—it was a stunning day, and the outdoor setting made the experience even more enjoyable. Peaceful and refreshing, it felt like a mini escape from the everyday rush. Our waitress, Kea, was exceptional—friendly, efficient, and incredibly attentive without being intrusive. It’s rare to find service this genuine and polished. The food? Outstanding. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. But the highlight? The strawberry daiquiri—fresh, vibrant, and hands down one of the best I’ve ever tasted. We also had the pleasure of meeting Ronald, the manager, who is clearly the heart of the place. With his magnetic personality, professionalism, and passion for top-tier service, it’s easy to see why the team operates so seamlessly. His leadership brings the whole experience together. One of the most impressive things about Black is its versatility. They serve breakfast, lunch, and brunch during the day, but in the evening, it transforms into a sophisticated venue with an entertainment club vibe—making it ideal for every kind of occasion. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing brunch, a power lunch, or an exciting night out, Black delivers on every level. We’ll absolutely be back—and recommending it to...
Read moreWoodmead has been waiting for a place like Black Bistro & Cocktail Lounge, and when I say that, I really mean it! Driving home one day, something felt different, like there was a new energy in the air. That’s when I saw the sleek sign for Black, and I knew I had to check it out. What I discovered was not just a new spot—it’s now my favorite place in town!
From the moment you walk in, the ambiance hits you. It’s not just stylish—it’s sophisticated, warm, and welcoming. This is hands-down one of the best places in Gauteng. We started with sushi and a Focaccia pizza, and wow, both were beyond amazing. The sushi was fresh, and the pizza had the perfect blend of flavors. But what really took it up a notch was the Hennessy Sours. I’m not even exaggerating—this drink is a must-try! It’s the perfect mix of smooth, bold, and refreshing.
And the music? Absolutely on point, with some of my favorite Amapiano artists setting the vibe. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel relaxed, like all the stress of the day just melts away. Shoutout to Craig, Rob, and the incredible team—they’ve created something special here. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always smiling, which made the experience even better.
Now, Black is my go-to stop after work for a beer, a bite, and of course, another Hennessy Sours! If you haven’t been, you’re seriously missing out. It’s more than just a lounge—it’s an unforgettable experience. Keep up the...

The person on the call, Carlos, advised that there is a private party and that the place will close early for patrons. When asked why I was not told this when I did the booking. I was greeted with an absolute rude and self centered individual. All he said is that he those not know and he did not make the booking. My son called them back, and Carlos was on the call again. Defending himself. When asked for to speak to the manage, we were told that he was the manager and that there is no one else we ckuks speak to. He bluntly told us to call on Monday and he will chat to us. Absolutely no care as frontlne customer services. This is really disheartening as my wife and always celebrate Valentines day the day after. The sad thing is that my wife had booked this restaurant for 30 people before. Will never think of...
