I visited Woolies in Ballito Lifestyle today and I usually have a problem with my bank card at this store.
I purchased my stuff and proceeded to the cashier to pay. When it was time to pay, I presented my card and went through the transaction process to which my payment was not going through. I explained to the cashier this usually happens at this store only! I sometimes swipe the card 3/4 times then the payment goes through. Further, I just used my card to make a paymentat another store so it was working perfectly fine. The cashier being very friendly and helpful, asked if I would like to use another card machine to which I agreed.
The cashier called for a lady whom I don't know if was a manager of the store or supervisor as she did not greet me, introduce herself or even acknowledge me. The cashier explained the situation and then this lady takes my slip to another cashier without even telling me to come along. I followed her to the next cashier and proceeded with my payment.
I entered my pin into the card machine, it stated transaction processing then requested that I enter my pin again. I mentioned this to the lady who asked me to remove my card and redo the entire process. I agreed. She then went on to ask if I am choosing the right option when processing my card as if I never used my card before or don't know how to use my card. Eventually the payment goes through at that till. However, nor the cashier or the lady mentioned that payment was successful, I am standing there like an idiot wondering if the this time the payment went through. I had to ask the lady and cashier if the payment was successful or not. The cashier replied it was fine. I then stated to the lady why is it that it's only at this store that my card does this which is embarrassing. She just looks at me, shrugs her shoulders and walks away.
No apology nothing for the inconvenience and embrassment caused to me. If a customers card usually declines, it gives a code such as 91 for insufficient funds or no network. They refused to tell me what the code number was stating it is just declining! Clearly fault on their side if my card eventually went through with the payment.
