Waterstone Village is my go-to place to shop, to bank, brunch, drink perfect coffee, pamper my hair, body, nails, get all my printing, reading, cellphone upkeep done, go for eyetests, see a Dr or clinic sister and get medication and other essentials at the pharmacy. It is as if whenever I go in, the stores somehow become like all of my favorite shops. I have been coming to Waterstone since it was built so I value the quality atmosphere and the consistency of that quality. If you did not know it yet, This is where you find The best Woolworths, in SouthAfrica. Go to Carlton or the men's barber next to the body shop to find the Best place to get your hair done. Clicks, PnP and the crazy store cater to what you need, what you didnt know you needed and what you have been searching for, for a while. Bargain books, yes! Every shopping mall must have a bookstore and bargain books has been going strong for years! Great prices, specisls and it does not matter what age you are- there is something there for you! I love that there's a Tsonga store now! Best shoes ever! It is impressive to be able to walk into almost any store at Waterstone and be met with excellence. The atmosphere of Waterstone as well as the look and feel is wonderful. I will mention that having a good attitude and being grateful and kind to everyone you encounter here does enhance your experience, not only of Waterstone, but of life! The exterior of the building is appealing as well, especially with the use of plants, trees, benches and walkways. It feels very safe and it is very safe, much respect to the security who keep the peace and calm. It is quite safe to shop here, park here and not worry about danger to your vehicle. The car guards have awesome enthusiasm! Please thank them and be kind to them too, they are wonderful people with amazing stories! The security or behind the scenes staff are well appointed and well trained. There are lovely restaurants and cafes at Waterstone, from Hussar grill to Spur to Vida e Cafe, to Fancy gourmet ice cream to the heavenly Woolworths Cafe, etc! The Vodacom shop and new Capitec branch are extremely efficient. The bathroom cleanliness, extending to the general cleanliness of the building, is excellent. Almost all the workers on this property are helpful, hard working and friendly. Waterstone extends beyond itself, so I encourage you to enquire, explore and enjoy. Waterstone caters to everyone. If you need to see a nurse or Doctor, you can also find a practise here. In my opinion, is one of the best, if not best shopping centre's in the Helderberg. Waterstone keeps improving and its a pleasure to shop here. I could probably write a book or do a whole podcast episode about this place but oh, perhaps another day! Whenever someone is new in town, and I get the opportunity to show them around, Waterstone Village is an essential part of that tour ♥️ Keep it up!...
Read moreI visited Waterstone Village today for the first time at about 12:30 and was appalled by your security guards. As I walked in I was rudely approached by one of your guards and was demanded to remove my hat. Due to intensive chemotherapy I have almost no hair and refused to remove it. I told him I will not remove it as I have no hair. This altercation was embarrasing and degrading for me as it was busy. He said I could only go into Woolworths. After I went to Woolworths I went in to the mall and was again rudely approached by him. I told him to please leave me alone and carried on walking. As I came out of the health shop another gaurd approached me. I told him I will not remove my hat. He argued with me and I posed the question if its for security identification reasons, what do you do when a Muslim woman walks in with a Burka? He said thats fine. So how is that fine but I can't walk in? I told him I had cancer and do not have hair and he said he didn't know because the gaurd did not tell him over the radio. Which means the first gaurd had the audacity to radio him after I told him why I won't remove my hat.
I was nearly brought to tears and felt so discriminated against. I asked for his managers name and he refused, he also refused to give me his name or ID card.
To put a cherry on the cake, all I had on me was my phone and wallet, I was wearing a dress with no pockets, so if they were concerned I was going to shoplift please tell me how?!? Being treated like a criminal was degrading on its own.
In conclusion your staff need to learn some manners and you should reconsider your...
Read moreThe Waterstone Village rule of not being allowed to wear caps are the most ridiculous thing I've seen all my life. Of course I just ignored the harassment of various security guards and continued with my shopping. My immediate thought was the multiple elderly people that I saw walking around with hats. How is this gross violation of human rights being tolerated by visitors and tenants? It's only afterwards that I read that their guards actually had the audacity to remove an elderly man from the premises for wearing a hat to keep his head warm. I guess the guards didn't have the balls to take on a healthy 32 year old male today.
Not being able to wear caps is not going to stop the next armed robbery as much as water isn't going to turn into wine. I do not usually wear a hat, but I do when I have a bad hair day like today. The experience today left a very bad taste in my mouth and I will most certainly not visit again when I have a bad hair day.
I wish no harm to innocent people, however, I can't wait for the next armed robbery at their premises. Is that what it will take them to stop this ridiculousness or will they become even more laughable and ban what next?
Their guards are actually so busy harassing innocent shoppers that the next time a gang of robbers appear with AK47's, the robbery will be long over with people pointing fingers at management for forcing security guard's attention away from their...
