What a disgusting experience here this morning. Iām not a PnP customer, but needed something. I experienced a poor / unprofessional retail culture evident through some broken cupboards, a rotten whiff in front of the deli counter and lethargic / lazy point of sale (POS) staff.
No management visibility and zero efficiency at POS. I should not really be surprised as this truly represents the current PnP share price / and investment ratios on the JSE. I'm of opinion this is from previous entitlement of PnP overall top management.
Your brand, PnP retail experience and possible share investment is probably what puts me / and many other off shopping at any PnP or considering any investment / or derivate trading in PnP shares. Even with Seann Summers back as CEO there, I will not even look at PnP - not from a Technical or Market Analysis perspective. In my opinion - poor in-store quality via a poor all round current retail culture across the brand.
There is just so much more value in competitor retail experiences / retail share portfolio considerations. What a shame to what happened to a top retail brand that fell into the poor quality / experience abyss (that was entirely preventable, but was a long time in the making). This is, once again, in my opinion, causes by a lack of top / store management - and not products.
This was probably the worst retail experience Iāve had in Cape Town over the past 25 ā 30 years. Shocking! I recommend their customers / potential investors to go elsewhere until these below-standard in-store experiences are fixed - if ever. My decision to invest in one of their direct competitors was 100% justified while spending 30 minutes in a poorly managed retail store. My shopping experience should have taken less than 10 minutes (considering there were about no customers in the shop). The value of time / efficiency was of very little concern to POS staff / and other observations experienced there this morning.
I may purchase something from PnP if it is my only retail option. But will never purchase anything that was internally produced / prepared (i.e. fresh food / bread / salads etc.) from any PnP.
Regards Vernon...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to pick n pay this evening as we have a sick baby and wanted to grab something to put into the oven.
We bought the Mac and cheese with bacon which was on special as it expired today but not thinking anything of it and grabbed it. When I got home it smelt off however my husband said itās possibly just the bacon, after 30minutes in the oven and dishing up and trying to see to our baby at the same time it was beyond sour! We have now had to order in and have eaten at 8.30pm, I cannot describe the disappointment we have just experienced after spending over R100 for the meal and trying to save ourselves time with a sick baby! It has not only put a bad taste in our mouths but makes me wonder how your branch would consider keeping food in your fridges and not checking that itās ok before marking it down! Yes it expired today but surely if itās in your fridge this would have been checked prior to a customer buying it! I cannot trust your branch anymore and wonāt return as sour food is beyond off putting and who knows what else is on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood day. I have a complaint regarding your Pick n Pay in Table View, Cape Town. Your front end supervisor (Asanda) is a very rude and unpleasant unprofessional person. On two occasions have I experienced a bad attitude from her. The first time was when I had a digital voucher, purchased through capitec. On many occasions, I have transferred this digital voucher onto a gift card. About 2 weeks back I went into the table view store and she simply told me I cannot be done. I then said I have done it before and she rudely replied that I should go and do it where I did it before. I politely responded that I had done it at this specific store. She blatantly told me that I am lying. Eventually someone else assisted me and it was done. She has no respect and does not deserve to be in the job...
