I have walked pipe track coming out of Kasteelspoort Hiking trail and remembered it to be a quite pleasant hike. I however this time round took the wrong slip and ended up looping on some of the off tracks underneath the pipe track which arnt as well marked. This added about 2 more hours to my casual walk that I started at 4pm and with stopping and taking pictures, ended up coming out by kloof nek at around 7pm. Nevertheless, hike was great. There was a ranger at the beginning of the track, this made me feel safer considering the crime that had peaked on table mountain. The pipe track is an all rounder. I bumped into people walking, running (with pets), hiking down from some of the difficult trails from the top of table mountain, and a few mountain bikers. The off tracks appeared to be more cemented, and this catered to those with bikes. The pipe track can be easily walked with young children, although there are alot of loose stones so careful footing is advised. No water points, and only some cellphone reception in certain points, so factor preparing for this.

Beautiful place for an early morning stroll before a coffee of Kloof street. Easy access and plenty of parking. No steep or difficult inclines, suitable for all styles of walkers and can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Look forward to coming back and doing it all over again!

Easy access, beautiful views and an easy hike with the occasional uphill. There are usually people in the morning, afternoons and on weekends so it’s a safer trail for women (but I wouldn’t walk it on my own, especially not at odd hours).

Amazing and relaxing hike at the foot of Table Mountain, the trail follows the old water pipe that feeds water from the mountain reservoir. The hike is on Camps Bay side, so you have beautiful views over the beach and of Lion's Head. There are many trails that go up towards the top of the mountain but choose carefully and do your research if you are unfamiliar with the technical level. There are directions/signs to help you find your way to the track you're...

A nice and simple trail for the family, including an 8 year old child.

The trail runs around a portion of the mountain and you have quite a wide view including Camps Bay.

Follows the water pipe all round except for a portion which isn’t clearly marked (stick to the higher ground to follow the path)

It does get a bit windy, we had our jackets even though it was summer!

Our pace was slow but still completed the trail in under 2 hours...
