Caters to the overseas visitors in terms of cost, but make use of some of the specials available to locals and you can get in on this highly recommendable trip.

Firstly, the experience is worth it. I have gone up early in the day and at sunset and any time you go, the cable car experience itself is well run and the views from up top are spectacular.

Take a camera! Take a bottle of something special if you like (definitely an idea for a unique moment) or a tasty treat to snack on while you're up there, soaking in the views from a nice quiet ledge.

The facilities up top are good, but I find no need to make use of the overpriced (for locals anyway) cafe up top. The gift shop is nice, it has some good items in, but many (not all) of the items can be found at other tourist spots throughout Cape Town. Do not feel too left out if you missed out on buying a souvenir up there. Rather enjoy the views and take a few photos than indulging in material mementos.

It is not the cheapest of Cape Town activities, but it by no means the average tourist activity either. It is a really special thing.

If you are local, there are ways to improve your experience. Book tickets online if you don't mind paying higher prices, there are separate queues for pre-booked tickets, these queues do eliminate virtually all the waiting time.

If you wish to find some specials, look on their website or ask the tourist info desks about them. Students and seniors do get some decent discounts and the Sunset Special (after 6pm) is rather excellent. The views at that time are stunning and worth the trouble. It is a popular discount, so book online if you can or get there early enough so that you time your queuing just right. Expect an hour or more queue (can be less though) to get tickets, but when timed correctly you'll get up there as the sun goes down. Theres nothing else...

The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway offers an unparalleled experience with its breathtaking views and unique features.

From the moment we boarded the rotating cable car, we were treated to a 360-degree panoramic view of Cape Town, the Atlantic Ocean, and the surrounding landscapes.

The rotating platform ensures that everyone gets to enjoy the stunning vistas, regardless of where they are standing.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable.

Their professionalism and warm demeanor added a personal touch that made our trip even more memorable. We decided to go early in the morning, which turned out to be a great choice as there was no queue.

This allowed us to make the most of our time at the top, exploring the various viewpoints and taking in the serene beauty of Table Mountain. However, when we descended later in the day, we noticed a long queue of people waiting to go up. It's clear that this attraction is immensely popular, so arriving early is highly recommended.

Additionally, the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway offers discounts for elders and students, making it accessible to a broader range of visitors. Overall, this is a must-do activity when in Cape Town, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and...

Introducing VIEWS by De Grendel Wine - a wine lounge with WiFi, a deli and an opportunity to experience the most unique panoramic views of the Mother City from its balconies. VIEWS is an ideal spot to have a glass of wine whilst relaxing or using the space as an ‘office for the day’.

VIEWS by De Grendel Wines is the newest food and beverage facility and is the only place on the mountain with a premium wine experience. 🥂

Sit and use it as an office for the day - amazing wifi and a much more relaxed environment. Enjoy a glass of wine, read a book, listen to a podcast. Most importantly, the venue lends itself to host amazing launches, events and private parties.

Short drive from CBD, took Uber at R57. Low season, not many tourist but the weather is very cold. The cab of the cable car takes in about 50+ at one time and rotates 360° ensuring complete view of the surrounding. While ascending and descending. Cafe is available, toilet and designated smoking area, view, breadth taking. True to the name "Table', it's a plateau, not many inclinations, easy to walk and photo worthy 360° as you move around the "table". Vast ocean of the South Atlantic Sea spread across. If it's not foggy and a clear day, view is good. A must visit attractions and worth the cost of the cable car.

The highlight of Cape Town. If you don't go up Table Mountain then you've wasted your trip. The prices are decent and the entire process is pretty straightforward. I would recommend that you buy your tickets online as this will save you some time. There are long lines so be sure to carry water and be prepared to wait. It's definitely better to go earlier in the day as the lines are shorter. The view from the top is worth the wait. It's absolutely stunning. The new cable cars with the rotating floors also make the trip up and down a lot of fun. Table Mountain is a must for everyone.

Take the ride and enjoy the views from the top! Parking is a big hustle. If you’re planning to come in the morning, Uber there or take a cab. You can also park down the hill and take a taxi from there. There are plenty of them waiting for you. If you still want to drive to the top, don’t park where there is a red line, the police will fine you. The ride take just 2 to 3 minutes but you can enjoy your time at the top. You can chose to pay for the ways up and down or just a one way ticket as you can trek back to the bottom or do the opposite.
