Read moreThis is now the second time I’ve encountered this and it clearly reflects a pattern of poor service at Elements. We came for a simple coffee, yet the receptionist not only failed to represent the level of hospitality the UAE is known for, but actually made us feel unwelcome. She was not at her desk when we arrived, and despite more than 15 empty tables, she refused to seat us, hiding behind the excuse that everything was “fully booked.” Even when I offered to take a table, commit to the minimum spend, and leave immediately once the table was required, she declined and instead wrote my number on a scrap of paper, promising to call me in an hour — a call that, of course, never came. It was still dirty and I took a serviette and started to remove the cake crumbs…. The waitress noticed us, approached the table, without cleaning it, said : we have minimum consumption 250 AED per person… she repeated that several times. Of course, she even did not plan to clean the table. If you sit inside, in the lobby, min consumption is 150 AED per person. You are not allowed to order step by step: at once for the full amount. If you do not consume any alcoholic drinks, order 10 cakes to be allowed to sit there. Of course, the cakes, coffee and the rest is more than overpriced. But! Offer such awful service and attitude is a no go. Is it worth the effort? No! Do I recommend? No! To sum up: average cakes and coffee, very high prices, bad service. The only plus: nice atmosphere. Afterwards, it is very difficult...
