Laguna Beach Taverna & Lounge — Restaurant in Dubai

We’re currently staying at the Sofitel the palm Dubai and wanted to leave a separate review to the positive points we gave. The hotel now sadly has 1 downside and that’s the Laguna beach bar on Sundays! Every Sunday the hotels beach bar turns in to a Ibiza party atmosphere for groups of people aged mainly between 18-35 that mainly come from outside the hotel to have a day of partying and drinking which ruins it for other guests that come to the hotel for the quite / relaxing family atmosphere, you can see it in guests faces relaxing on the beach as soon as that music goes on around 10-11am and turns in to a Ibiza party on the beach for the rest of the day / evening for which there is no escape from the noise you can literally hear the awful techno music everywhere and it just ruins your day. We approached the staff at the bar about the loud music and their response was well it’s only going to get louder! The bar also excludes guest unless your willing to go in and pay a premium on top of your stay with a minimum spend cap, we tried to go into the bar to have a drink before we knew about the beach party to be told we wasn’t allowed unless we were paying additional money even though we were already paying for a all inclusive soft drinks package. we have stayed at the Sofitel resort 3 times now and have always had an amazing stay and return because of its peaceful, relaxing and family atmosphere throughout the hotel, however this sadly isn’t the case for this hotel now as every Sunday it is ruined by the party bar atmosphere to cater for and being people in from outside the hotel to make money, the hotel now seems to forget about it’s current paying guest and the reason why so many visit the hotel for, you can clearly see the horror on peoples faces on the beach when that music comes on for the whole day / night. We have a holiday booked to return to the Sofitel in September 2023 for the 4th time but now due to the beach bar restricting guests with a large additional minimal spend and adding party atmosphere days which just ruins your stay at the hotel we are seriously considering changing out stay to a different...

They do have great cocktails and food is good too. After the first day I would be happy to give 5 stars but what we didn’t enjoy - every restaurant does have smoking areas and non smoking ares which is completely understandable and here in Dubai usually entrance is 21+. That is completely understandable, those are their rules and we do respect that. So the first day we went there just the two of us and no problems, service is nice and welcoming, everything good, looked after very nice. Went today too and didn’t have such a good experience, there was a different woman working today, yesterday no one asks for ID, we just enjoy our time, atmosphere is nice and today the employee handling the seating is giving a hard time to even sit in a smoking area, we are moved to the “kids” one, a different waiter comes and does solve the problem to who we show ID to too so we do get a seat in the smoking area and have somewhat a good time. After this we had a long waiting time for everything, wasn’t busy at all and just an unreasonable argument into getting there. What I personally expect from a place - the same treatment and the same rules everyday, it shouldn’t change because there is a different shift of employees. We had no problem showing Id’s and everything, just the fact about making someones day bad, as far as we heard we were the only ones being asked as if there was a problem with race or any other stereotypes which is very sad to...
