Had a gift voucher for 60 minutes flying lesson had to extend it twice. I live and work for the past 42 years in Italy Ministry of Defence and Justice so even with family in Worthing it's not always easy to get there. Booked a lesson in May 2019 it was cancelled because of bad weather front. I had to go back to work in Italy with intention of returning soon to Worthing sadly March 2020 Italy went into the first horrendous COVID lockdown. No chance of going anywhere. A few future emails with Perry Air assured me that when I did manage to get back just book a lesson no need to extend voucher again. I was really happy and thought how very nice of them. At long last I got back November 2022 emailed and called them and said that after all this I would like to make the 60 minutes longer perhaps an extra 60 minutes was told 30 minutes would be better rather than 60 extra. Told I had to bring £55 plus book and pay the 30 min lesson £149 or I would not be getting the original usage of the voucher. I told them I had an Italian phone number but was on WhatsApp if they could call me informed very rudely that they were not calling Italy or using WhatsApp and if I was interested to get on with booking the 30 minutes lesson and bring the extra £55 when I went for my lesson. Thanks but no thanks another £204 isn't possible on an Italian Civil Service salary. Other flying schools up and down the UK, Lewes included offer a 30 minutes lesson for £99. Oh well it was a dream from childhood and will stay a dream. I told family and friends no more...
Read moreIt was a Christmas present to my son and we were asked to turn up early 9;30 for the briefing of the experience.turned up to find the place locked and no one about so sat for half hour then at five past ten three men turned up.so decided to enter the office they were busy talking and for at least five minutes no one agnoleged that we were there.then one member of staff said hello.we interduced ourselves and I was given a old scrap of paper and asked to sign it and write something to the fact I'm happy for my son to fly.i was thinking this is not very professional.then looking down into the hanger there was a guy filling the plane with fuel and it was coming over the top of the funnel and running all down the back of the plane.by now I'm feeling very uncomfortable.my son said he was not happy to fly in the cub.i did explain this to them and they were helpful and took him down and let him sit in it and try but he was not happy so they did allow him and myself to go in the four seater warrior but told you'll only get half hour as it's book to fly to the isle of white and it cost more money to run that plane which I think was rubbish as on the phone when booked I was told he would be in that plane for the hour..the pilot was also not very happy about changing his plan to take us up but when I said well leave it then as I feel a bad vibe in the room then they all turned more friendly and said no it's ok go and enjoy yourself.once in the plane the instructor was good and yes we got half hour but to be honest i won't go...
Read moreWhat a blast this was!!! From a my girlfriend I got a present of 1 hour flight lesson in this place and oh my goodness, was it fun!
Getting to place was super easy, google maps was 100% accurate, there is plenty of space to park a car. Important to mention that because we got there early we got a chance to explore a near by café, which was also great. There is lovely seating area outside where you can watch planes and helicopters landing/taking off while enjoying your beverage.
Staff in Perry Air were super nice, fun to talk and very relaxed, loved talking to all of them! While I was flying my girlfriend was chilling in lovely seating area by the air port.
My pilot was Andy, super nice guy, enjoyed every minute in plane together with him. I was not expecting to spend much time on plane controls, but it was rather opposite, I got plenty of time to do it my self. Andy is a great instructor and he very quickly thought me basics of how to control this small aircraft and I was sooooo happy that I could do all of these basic manoeuvres my self.
Super fun day! Confirmation for my self that I definitely want to pursue a dream of becoming a pilot.
P.S. If you get to choose which direction to fly, - choose West. Views of the castle were amazing! Weather conditions on my flight were perfect, no clouds...
