A group of four booked online for the Christmas menu only to be told on arrival that there weren’t any Christmas meals available although two and a half hours earlier a member of staff phoned me and said we hadn’t filled in a pre order to which I replied there’d was no facility to preorder and we had booked the Christmas menu and therefore expected a roast turkey meal. On arrival to be told there were no roast turkey meals was beyond belief and after hearing all the excuses from the manageress/chef about how busy short staffed etc etc she agreed there would be enough,it started ok with prawn cocktails or soup for starters which was about four or five starters short of what’s advertised on the online menu but the prawn cocktail was ok(obviously no cooking involved you can’t go wrong) The four main courses arrived and it looked like someone had cleared all the leftovers from other plates and dumped them on our plates there was no finesse or care gone into the presentation the food was just warm the gravy was like sludge which hid things we didn’t know were on the plate I.e red cabbage and cranberry sauce the sprouts were stewed as were the carrots the stuffing balls were rock hard the potatoes you either couldn’t cut or were mushy in fact I’m over 70 years old and this is the worst Christmas meal I have ever had

I recently visited The Longshore in Shoreham, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From start to finish, nothing about the meal or the service made me want to return. The food was poorly prepared and lacked flavor. Dishes that should have been simple to execute arrived either overcooked or underseasoned, and presentation was sloppy. For the prices charged, I expected at least some care in the kitchen, but it felt rushed and careless. The service was equally frustrating. Staff seemed uninterested and inattentive, making it difficult to even flag someone down for basics like water refills or condiments. There was no warmth or hospitality, which only added to the sense that customers weren’t valued. The atmosphere itself might have been a redeeming factor, but even that felt flat—dimly lit and uninspired, with no energy to make up for the other shortcomings. In the end, the combination of bad food and bad service made this a place I could never recommend. There are plenty of better dining options in Shoreham, and I won’t be returning to The Longshore.

Great pub for a cheap meal, buy one get one free on all mains, meaning that you can have a good meal for not too much money, bear in mind as soon as you add drinks, sides, starters and deserts, it's going to cost about the same as you'd pay in other restaurants, the food is typical pub grub, the menu offers a couple of healthy options, but not a great variety in my opinion, The restaurant is very popular at peak times most likely due to the pricing and location, I would describe it as a family friendly restaurant, not somewhere you'd really want to go for a quiet bite to eat, the staff are very efficient and mostly friendly, however once we'd finished eating we did have the bill brought to our table within 5 minutes and felt pressured to move on, so you were unable to sit there and let your food digest, as a paying customer I wasn't overly pleased with this, Overall I'd visit again but I'd now be aware of what to expect

A few acquaintances and I visited the establishment today, and regrettably, we found ourselves rather unimpressed with our experience. This is not the first time we have patronized this establishment, and we have previously encountered issues.

During our visit today, we encountered several challenges. Firstly, the QR codes provided for accessing the menu failed to function, and physical menus were noticeably absent from the majority of tables. Furthermore, it appears that the menu has been further reduced from its already limited offerings. Additionally, despite my desire to order the cod and chips, I was disappointed to discover that this item was unavailable on both occasions I visited.

To compound matters, an erroneous order was served to one member of our party who adheres to a vegetarian diet. After returning the dish, it seems that the kitchen expedited the replacement, but in doing so, they inadvertently provided a smaller side portion instead of the main course. Moreover, this side portion was accompanied by barbecue sauce, despite our explicit request for no sauce.

The temperature of the chips was notably subpar upon arrival, and the overall presentation of our dishes left much to be desired. Notably, the breaded chicken dish consisted of unremarkable breaded chicken in a bowl with a few wilted rocket leaves casually strewn on top. To add to our disappointment, the service was disappointingly slow.

Our past visits have already raised doubts about the quality of this establishment, but this recent experience has solidified our decision to never return. I would strongly advise anyone considering a visit to this establishment to reconsider and explore alternative...

Awful. Twice I’ve been here with a large group and twice I’ve been left down as well as the other I’ve come with.

Specifically called up to book for table if 15, enquired to ensure we’d be catered for and was told there’d be no issues. Gave a meal plan in advance, yet when we arrived multiple people were told their starter choice wasn’t available as there was none left? We sent a meal plan in 4 days before, so why wasn’t our choices out to one side?

The food arrived and multiple peoples orders were given out wrong, I was given the wrong meal 3 times. Again, if we sent a meal plan in 4 days before how did you not know what was ordered? Myself and my friend then had to wait for our food and the rest of our group had finished by the time we got our meal.

When my meal arrived, it was at best linked warm, soggy chips and soggy onion rings. The final straw was the hair accompanying my food. Meal was returned and a refund for my meal was asked for.

The staff seemed rushed all night, no politeness, no helpfulness. There was a couple of large groups last night as well as a packed out restaurant but clearly not enough staff for the numbers they were catering for? We also had to walk to the bar to order our drinks throughout the whole night and waited anywhere between 10-20 minutes to be served. For obvious reasons our group declined to pay a service charge.

That’s 2 visits and 2 let downs, will not attend again or ever...

We had our family celebration for our Golden Wedding with you. From start to finish we felt welcome. You made the dogs in the party so welcome too. The food was amazing. You gave us time to chat between courses. I liked the way that your staff were attentive without being overpowering. The gentleman with dark hair and glasses was particularly attentive with the dogs which is very difficult to balance when you want to get involved with them without having to wash your hands every 5 minutes. I do think that the dog friendly situation is great. All the staff were friendly and attentive. The tables were laid up beautifully using my seating plan, name cards and with golden butterflies on the table. We have our guests pots if roses do the staff had to put those in the tables too I had thought of metal confetti but decided against it as it is difficult to hoover. The butterflies were great. You let us provide beautiful tissue paper balls which our Daughter made. Karen was so friendly when she e mailed me back when I enquired about celebrating there. She really does care about her customers and so do the staff. It really does show. We met up with Karen just before the event People do not realize that you can cater for an event for up to 100. I like the way that there is still space for the regulars. You are our family's favourite restaurant. What more can I...
