Adur Recreation Ground and Playground — Attraction in Adur

Excellent large green space with wilder parts, areas of mature trees around the edges. Free carpark, public toilets open in daylight hours. Picnic table & a few more parking spaces near the children's play area, which is accessed either by walking from the main recreation ground, or by the road that goes on past the initial carpark. View to the estuary from the play area. The large part of the Rec is very popular with dog-walkers. The main road is visible along one side & is audible, but that doesn't seem to matter, & makes it easy to access. Adur Rec also hosts the Circus, Fair, CarBoot Sales & other events....

Adur recreation ground houses Sea scouts and other boating activities, bordering the Adur River there is access to Adur Esturary. Photos ive added are all from the rec or looking towards it.it is a preserved area. The arch bridge is on the West end and has a circular Pond/river fill area. This has been developed with new trees planted. The Rec itself is usually quiet with the odd Dog walker, think theres a dirt bike area but not sure if still theres, also a small kids playground and free parking. We came for a festival. Not sure if the security were local or employed by the festival business. The festival was out on the field. Attended by may be 1000 I think. Security was well organised. Temp toilets were plenty. No glass or dangerous objects. Many kids running around with no shoes. We had a good time
