Magnolia Hair & Skin Clinic — Local services in Birmingham

Decor layout is professional and price was fine, average. However, my experience was not good. I went in with patcy coloured hair and specifically said I want it light brown.

Due to colour correction needed, hairdresser advised. I chose 2 colours from the warm browns and was advised a boliage is best.

Everything got applied and I commented that the roots were too dark, I didn't like it. She said when dried it would be lighter. I was worried and told hairdresser about my previous experience at a salon and this was triggering me to the same bad job.

Eventually everything done and I said I wasn't happy. Humaira was lovely and understanding but when Rani the manager came... Rani was rude and abrupt and said it's the same as the picture. I stopped her.

They showed me colour chart again and told me what she used. A dark black brown from cool tones which I never chose and the warm brown which hardly showed up.

Experience was good until the end. Eventually I left without paying the full amount - they kept the deposit and Rani said I should pay £20 more! I was shocked. Eventually she just asked me to leave and threatened to bleach my hair which I had never wanted.

I felt gaslighted. I took pictures and showed my friends, cousins and colleagues. What shocked me most when Rani said it looks like my inspo pic.

Another bad experience in a salon. Will never go again. When getting anything done, keep asking questions even though I did, it made no difference.

I was very clear I didn't want dark - I wanted to go light brown or as close as possible. I said I understood my hair was patchy but I didn't want my natural hair colour.

Oh and she also cut my hair bent... awful experience in the end.

EDIT: Not sure to reply to the owner but I would like to address the lies. That is NOT regrowth. I have a time stamp on the photo (see proof). Yes my hair WAS cut and Rani said I had a free haircut as part of a colour and wash from Humaira and she was losing out as it was her (Humaira) money - it was only trimmed as I had my cousin wedding that week so did not want to lose length which I did because it was such a bad job.

FYI: my hair was destroyed on Fri 8th Nov by the salon. My cousin mehndi was on Sat 9th and I had to get my sister to fix my hair in the morning having had a complete breakdown. I debated whether to post this review or not and now I'm glad I did as I'm shocked but not suprised by the reply. This exactly the gaslighting that I am referring to which is laughable as I have photos to prove everything including my hair colour from last year on MY anniversary in Jul 2023!

The only change was that the salon gave me a bent haircut and turned my hair back to dark which I did NOT want. I wanted close to light brown and NO dark roots without bleach.

As stated, Humaira was lovely but Rani just lied (unfortunately no other word) to my face saying the colour was exactly like the picture I showed. That is reason I have posted this - is it me that is deluded or the salon owner and colourist whatever...

So let’s talk about Magnolia Hair & Skin Clinic where I booked a HydraFacial with Electra I have to say my first impression of the salon was the beautiful interior design this certainly created a lasting impression in my heart. This also reflected the values and the type of experience they offered to their customers.

The hospitality I received from Rani was truly amazing what a lovely and blessed soul she is, always putting the customers best interest to heart.

I work long hours so this treatment was a luxury for me to actually switch off from work and relax. Rani fitted me in after work(thank you and god bless you)

After the treatment though, I was shocked at how amazing my skin looked and felt. It was dewy, glowing, hydrated and felt so clean and refreshed. I will definitely be coming back regularly to have this done.

The most noticeable differences for me with the HydraFacial are how my skin feels hydrated, smooth, clean and how it looks dewy, plump, with less visible pores.

The staff was friendly and professional, and my stylist, Humera, was amazing! She really took the time to listen to what I wanted and gave me the perfect cut and color that suited my face shape and lifestyle. Above all I loved the honesty and knowledge Humera shared throughout. I had a patch test done the day before so I could see what color my hair would turn out on the morning that I arrived for the cut. That gave me confidence to go ahead with it and I love the final result.
