If I could give 0 stars I would… Been to this particular branch here a handful of times and have never been satisfied with their customer service. Staff are incompetent and rude. Tea always has a horrible aftertaste.
Today I popped in during my lunch break to grab a little bit of food with my partner (who had called before hand to order our food so it would be more or less ready by the time we arrived). Once I had arrived, I made it clear that it was a phone order and the woman at the tills could not “find” my order and made me re order. I had to repeat my order multiple times in order for it to be processed correctly. Once we managed to get over that very difficult hurdle, it came time to pay. I wanted to pay half by cash and half by card. The woman at the tills had no idea how to do that and went to the back twice to get help, the second time another member of staff had to come out. This particular woman was extremely rude and laughed in my face when I asked why she was showing me attitude after I had repeatedly asked to pay half cash and half card (I have worked in retail myself and this is a fairly simple request).
After 10 minutes of standing at the till and subsequently wasting 10 minutes of my lunch break, the TWO women behind the till still hadn’t been able to process my order. At this point I was more than happy to fully pay with card as that would’ve made their lives a lot easier, however every single time they would present the cash machine to me, the price on the machine was not reflective of my order at all. My order should’ve been £10.25 altogether, on the card machine they tried charging me £18 and then £13…had I not have been paying attention I would’ve been significantly overcharged.
In the end and after going back and forth for 15 minutes, I told them to cancel the order. During this interaction I asked to speak to the manager and was told that he was not there. One of the women actually had the audacity to ask me WHY I would like to speak to her manager as if she was not present for pretty much the entire interaction…very strange.
Prior to this amazing experience I had today, I’ve been served by a younger girl who always has airpods in her ears and responds with a series of grunts rather than using actual words.
Honestly, I would avoid at all costs. Very overpriced considering it’s basically all frozen food that they...
Read moreAt first I was very excited that a new chai place was opening around hodge Hill, something new to try out. I decided to try out some of their breakfast Dish. Apparently they don't sell an omelette on its own so I had to buy it with a addition with the channa so I was like heck why not. Went back home ready to try out the food. At first glance I was immediately disappointed how they've handled the parathas. The parathas looked processed food that you can get a pack from asda and was just slapped on the pan to with an iron to cook on the top. Was very disappointing. The packaging was horrible my channa ended up mixing with the omelette wasn't thrilled about it either. Omelette is good and that's what you expect when you cook something basic as that. The only best thing is tho is the chai it's delicious and sweet I ended up drinking it all in one sip. If I were you just...
Read moreI’m a regular at Karak Chai because their tea is consistently good — rich, flavorful, and always hits the spot. If you’re looking for a solid cup of Karak, they’ve got it right.
Unfortunately, the service tells a completely different story. Over my last few visits, I’ve been served by the same guy, and the experience has been consistently disappointing. After taking your order, there’s no further communication — not a word, no eye contact, no “thank you” — just silence. It feels like you’re more of an inconvenience than a customer.
I don’t expect over-the-top hospitality, but basic courtesy is the bare minimum. A smile or a simple acknowledgment would go a long way in improving the overall experience.
Great tea, but the customer service...
