The Hornet - JD Wetherspoon — Restaurant in Birmingham

I send this mail to management but did not get any reply yet. "Good morning,  On 1st May evening I went to The Hornet - J D Wetherspoon pub. I ordered a pint of Stella and dry roasted peanuts. Than after paid for drinks,  I thought to do relaxing why not play the slot machine, I put firstly £6.40 something than £20.00 (note) and then again £20.00 (note). The game I was playing Phoenix Slot and my balance was £21.36. Then I decided to leave with this balance,  when I press collect button it was shown the money is coming out £20.00, but it's did not come out!  And then again I press for rest of balance collect (£1.36) it also does not comes out. I called bartender she tried more extended period but unsuccessful than she called another her senior colleague, she switched off the machine and informed me that she is going to call an engineer as she never faces that kind of problem before. She takes my name, and details told me that I would get back soon. Please check your CCTV camera what is the reason also with the technician as I don't want to lose £21.36 pound for no reason."

I could give this place 0 stars. Incredibly rude staff, came with my boyfriend for food only to be told we weren’t allowed to be served and were told to leave despite having been in there multiple times and served by this woman (Lauren) previously before being told this.

Asked if there was anyone else we could speak to and was told there’s no one else here, not even a manager, and that she was just told that he wasn’t allowed to be served for something he did last time he was there (he was there with his family). We decided to leave after being treated poorly by this member of staff, to then be told that she ‘might have got the wrong person’, and ‘I was happy to let you stay’, even though we were just told we weren’t allowed to be served by the same woman.

The way she spoke to us was incredibly rude and was quite shocking, we were spoken in a manner that felt like we had done something awful even though we were there for food. Will never feel comfortable going...

Been going here for years with my family, including only 2 weeks ago. Went in today with my girlfriend and was rudely told that I'm not allowed in and would not be served due to "something I did the last time I was there", despite the fact that I had already ordered food. I'm fairly sure this was related to something my friend had done almost a year prior, totally unrelated to me. I have been in multiple times since and have had no issues, including times in which I have seen and spoken to the manager (as has my friend).
