Another trip to the West Midlands with family and we decided to visit Bakeville Cafe after hearing good things - it's well set out (they moved a couple of tables to accommodate us) and has a welcoming atmosphere with polite and courteous staff. I had a nice chicken melt with a refreshing strawberry mojito but the main reason for visiting was the desserts.
I had the chocolate ganache cake and had nibbles of quite a few other desserts from the kids - I absolutely loved the chocolate ganache but I also loved the sample of lotus cake I tried. I finished that visit off with a really nice caramel latte (miles better than the rubbish served at Costa and Starbucks) and the prefect brownie - crumbly at the top a little gooey/fudgey underneath.
I was so impressed, I took another coffee for the drive home and a pistachio milk cake for dessert the next day - it was comparable to the brilliant but expensive milk cake I had in Home Bakery Dubai (although I've come to realise, I don't like Rose petals under my teeth).
Needless to say, I've been back since and tried the NY cookie (must try), Victoria sponge and a scone, all very good - it's a good job it's miles away and we only visit a few times a year or I'd be obese and diabetic... You can't beat a home baked cake with a really...
Read moreI would give this place 0 if I could. The customer service is the most terrible service I have ever seen in my life, the lady that works there doesnât even face you when sheâs serving you or when youâre speaking to her, she had her back to us the whole time while sheâs preparing a drink and doesnât even bother to give us the time of the day, almost like sheâs not interested and doesnât want us there, why are you working there if you donât want to serve customers? there was another girl there standing in the corner didnât step in to serve us or anything just staring at us the whole time looking at us up and down. Very rude spoken and no manners nor professionalism at least. We are humans and we deserve respect you look at someone and you donât turn your back on them while they are trying to speak to you. This was the first time my sister and I came in to this place we wanted to try out and had the worst first impression! never have this happened in any other cafe or food place before, very strange and weird behaviour. We tried our best and we left after a few minutes of being ignored and spoken to that way. Absolutely ridiculous, how can this be a 5 star place when youâre talking to...
Read moreWe were on a visit to Birmingham and this newly opened place had come highly recommended. Bakeville stands as a beacon of warmth and deliciousness. Upon entering, the aroma of superb barista coffee greets you, promising a cup that's crafted to perfection.
The highlight, however, is their chocolate ganache. It's a velvety masterpiece, rich and indulgent, yet not overpowering. Each bite is a testament to the love and care poured into their home-made cakes. These aren't just desserts; they're edible works of art.
Behind this culinary haven are the delightful owners, Parveiz and Fahmida, whose passion for baking and hospitality is evident in every detail. Their commitment to quality is unmatched, ensuring that every cake, pastry, and sandwich is a memorable treat.
Whether you're seeking a cozy corner for a coffee break or a celebratory cake that's sure to impress, I can assure you Bakeville is the go-to destination. It's more than just a coffee shop; it's a community hub where every patron leaves a little happier and a lot...
