A good household waste tip, it has a skip for every item and it flows better now it runs anti clockwise starting at bigger appliances/electric items and then round to your general, garden, wood, metal and hardcore etc. My only gripe is the people that use it who wait for a bay right next to the skip for the rubbish they have even when there are lots of other empty bays a d even more so when there is a massive queue behind them and they haven't a thought about anyone else, just park in an empty bay and walk to the required skip, plus some people have more than one item and have to walk up and down to the various skips. I feel the staff should say keep it moving as then can see the queue and the empty bays but Other than that, it's a good place to use, the staff seem to keep it clean and help people who might not know which items go...
Read moreTurned up with a van full of refuse from my sisters garden who lives on a new build that Bolton Council haven't updated for refuse collections, although they made sure to update the council tax swiftly enough. Anyhow despite explaining the situation they wouldn't let me in because my van was 700cm too long. So I had to go borrow a car and trailer to put the waste in that was 1.5 metres longer than my van, a complete and utter pointless task. I understand there a people who take the P but a bit of discretionary common sense was needed here. I asked very politely and explained the situation but no, rules are rules. I was doing a good turn for my sibling who was stressed out with the lack of service from the LA and thought that would be returned by the waste recycling center, not a chance in this selfish country we have become. Thanks...
Read moreWow! I have to give a shout out to the staff at the recycling centre. Me and my little boy (4) went with garden waste, and after a talk regarding recycling in the morning, he was excited to help out and see the centre. Unfortunately due to rules that I totally understand, he wasn't allowed to help. He became very upset, and sat in the car crying. The gentleman and lady at the site, went above and beyond to help cheer him up. They gave him an education about recycling, more than I ever could. He got to see the machine (transformer 🤣) sort waste out in the containers, wave and talk to him. He was amazing as the cab went up and down. He even got a lolly ice for all his troubles. This was all done in a safe manner, and was truly very rewarding for him. He was telling everyone. Thank you once again, and keep up the good work. Cheers...
