I just ordered a pizza about 45 minutes ago. The driver called me to say he’s outside. I nicely told him if he could get to third floor as I’m waiting by the lifts which is usually what I do when I order food delivery as I have small children and cannot get in the lift to go downstairs.
He told me to come down and get the delivery or else he’d go back with it. I was surprised and told him that every other driver including dominos ones don't have a problem coming up to hand me the delivery. But he insisted NO and went back with the food. Cant really anticipate what his explanations to his boss would be!!!
I had £30 pounds in my hand including the driver’s tip and thought to myself, I’m the customer here, happy to pay for the food and tip the driver as I always do. Cant get in the lift to go downstairs to get the food from him as I have small kids and my mrs was still not home and this driver is doing nothing but to refuse to come up two floors. May be he’s lazy or he doesnt like his job that much. Cant really say!!
All I can say here is that drivers like this are damaging the business and reputation of a well known food places like Dominos. I’m a regular customer and had not really encountered anything like this before.
Also, called my local Dominos so many times to report this but was unable to get...
Read moreI’ve regularly ordered from this Domino’s—many times, in fact.
Amongst the barrage of choices on Church Road, Domino’s is the one I opt for every time. I succumb to their nifty app with its fun, quirky UX, their speedy delivery, their pricing deals—but mostly, their pizza.
Barely am I ever disappointed. But my most recent order has left a bitter taste.
The cumbersome complaints procedure has failed me—my discontent seemingly falling on deaf ears. So here I am, venting in a publicly visible forum instead.
It’s not a huge complaint, but I do feel slightly cheated. I ordered a 13.5” stuffed crust Pepperoni Passion. But when I opened that steaming, trademark Domino’s box, I was met not with 13.5” of joy, but a pizza that barely stretched 12”.
Might seem minor, but let’s let AI crunch the numbers:
13.5” pizza area = π × (6.75²) ≈ 143.1 in² 12” pizza area = π × (6²) ≈ 113.1 in²
That’s ~30 in² less pizza—about 21% less.
Despite the pizza tasting fantastic, I can only give 2 stars. Let’s borrow some wisdom from Jack Reacher to explain why: “In an investigation (Pizza order), details matter.”
I’ll certainly think twice before ordering...
Read moreOrders for a specific time. 2 hours from when I ordered. 8:00pm. Should be hard.
The app said it has left the kitchen. Half an hour later it said it had been delivered. 15 minutes later I called to see where it was. I was told the car had broken down. I asked if I could have another cooked and sent out. I was told no, wait. He will get to you within the hour.
Tried ringing again and again for no answer.
9:30 I got hold of some one again and told the food will be with me soon. I said I wanted a replacement because the food would a have been cooked 2 hours ago and cold.
I was told no.
Food arrived at just gone 10.... Over 4 hours after I had ordered it. Cold, tasteless and no red onions on it.
The delivery driver said he had picke dit up front he kitchen 15 minutes ago.
So it had sat in Thier hot cupboard for 2 hours.
Abaslout joke.
