Omars Indian — Local services in Bristol

Unequivocally the worst Indian I have ever had (Multiple times).

Last year our 13 year old wanted an Omars for her birthday dinner. I had the saagwala which is my favourite goto curry and to say it was inedible was an understatement. It was a gloopy oily mess and the chicken had been blended into tiny pieces.

This year our now 14 year old wanted an Omars again so I reluctantly agreed but thought I'd play it safe and go for the Madras this time (surely you can't mess up a madras?). Well I was wrong! What turned up was a tikka massala with extra heat. It was far too sweet, but the worst part was the chicken was like leather. You could hardly cut it with a knife! I ended up removing the chicken and cooking my own chicken breast before reluctantly adding it back to the spicy massala. The other half and the kids said the same about their chicken and only our eldest said her butter chicken was tasty.

Roll on to this morning and all 4 of us feel really unwell.

Everyone used to rave about Omars so I don't know if it became under new management last year or something but I would highly avoid ever...

My previous review was five stars but I have had to edit it as the last couple of times i have notice the quality of ingredients has dropped. I have used Omar’s for years and the items I purchased have never changed and used to have loads of vegetables in but now it’s frozen vegetables and not as many but more sauce. Also they have a loyalty card on their website where you used to get a discount after six purchases but the loyalty card still gets an online stamp but no rewards for being loyal ! There’s one thing that’s certain and that’s Omar’s Indian is by far the best there is, I ordered the Chicken Naga chilli, Chicken Vindaloo, a dash of Bombay Aloo, plus X2 kema rice and X6 popadoms, I ate like a king and currently can barely move, but bonus is, curry for breakfast.
