Off duty staff getting drunk and very lairy, vaping in bar area, using F word every 2 seconds and on duty staff cheering him. When I spoke to staff and asked if you allow people to vape inside he said no but they did allow him and he said he was one of their staff. Then when we were leaving pub he was driving off in drunk state and manage to stall his car and drove off. I have his registration. Shame on Inn on the Green management if you allowing your staff to behave like this and let them get drunk and drive. Since rest of the staff were cheering him, it gives impression that he was not only one bad apple, whole tree is rotten. Avoid this place if you want to have relaxing evening. Contact me if you want his car reg.

Update! This is the response you get from owner when you give them feed back. Why bother going to this place, unless you want to smoke vape inside, use foul language and get drunk and then drive

Response from the owner Hi Jay, You have visited our pub many many times and therefore one assumes you have enjoyed it (your visit this evening aside). On that basis would it be unreasonable to ask that you refrain from pub...

Update 2!

Mr Inn on the Green owner, You are correct your response didn’t appeared in full but thanks for posting complete response.

So now you started stalking your customer who gave you honest feed back or you went to McDonald to learn about customer service? If you are the owner, you should know few law about stalking someone. Unless you want to learn legal way.

If I would you, I will take this feedback as a lesson learn and focus on business.

Contact me if you think I was wrong to point out someone vaping in bar area and using inappropriate language. If there was a sign vaping allowed I wouldn’t bother speaking to you or your staff that day and happily walked away.

You advertising as a community pub but on this occasion it didn’t feel like it. And your responses and behaviour proves this may be not one off.

Good luck with running pub, but careful with stalking customers because it can lead you into more...

I visited here on Sunday 8/12/24 for lunch with family as they had visited this place before but this was my FIRST time. I am being honest here and taking ALL FACTORS into account.

Firstly, it was VERY busy and I think that is a testament to the venue HOWEVER that can impact on the service.

The drink and food orders were taken within 10mins of being seated with the drinks served soon after. Our waiter clearly repeated our specific food orders. The food took 45mins to be served and not all members of our party received exactly what was ordered.

Personally I had the Lamb roast and it was delivered exactly as I asked AND it was delicious. I didn't order a dessert.

I commend a kitchen that attempts to serve 5 DIFFERENT ROASTS on a Sunday along side a limited choice of alternatives. Perhaps a "Carvery" style would work better for such ambition on a Sunday or reduce the choice? I also suggest better portion balance. I had HALF of a WHOLE parsnip, 2 WHOLE carrots but only 2 SMALL roast potatoes. The giant Yorkshire was bloody good though. Sharper knives would help too.

Overall, I had a bloody good lunch and the waiter was polite.

As a final point, I absolutely love the Gents "Beer...

I don't usually write bad reviews and have always loved this pub, the food is usually nice but this evening I had the worst food I have had in a long time. I ordered the venison pie, but asked if I could have it with chips and gravy instead of mustard mash and passata sauce. They said it was fine but when they gave me my meal, it had a jug of passata sauce with it. I didn't want to cause a fuss so I tasted it to see if it would be OK. It just tasted like passata from a jar, heated up. I asked again if I could have gravy instead, and was told I would have to wait 5 mins which was fine. I started eating my food because I was really hungry, the pie had absolutely no moisture inside whatsoever and the pastry tasted of nothing. After about 10 mins of slowly eating my food and waiting for some gravy, I found a hair in the pie which completely put me off. I went to the bar and told the server to not worry about the gravy because I found a hair in my...

I am removing my old comments and rating as I have been in touch with the landlord as he has corrected any issues. This is a great pub for local or just passing through trade. It can get very busy, but the staff are always to hand. What is even better is that they allow dogs! Lots of seating inside the pub, but also many outside in the front and back areas also, so you can socialise in almost any area of the pub! They have an upstairs area which is great for private parties... I know I have had one there! A great family pub, you don’t even have to have a drinkypoos, coffee is also served! So don’t pass this pub by... nip in and chill, have lunch or even dinner with friends and family.... oh even a quiz on Sundays!!

What a find, the Inn on the Green, I would highly recommend, stunning garden with beautiful flowers to enjoy on a warm sunny day/evening. Great atmosphere, all the staff are really friendly and attentive and checking back to ensure everything was ok for us. We opted for a steak and the fish, chips and mushy peas, oh boy it didn’t disappoint, hot delicious, tasty and good value for money. Nothing was to much trouble and a lovely young lady, took the extra time to have a chat with us about our day (literally we flew in from Italy, went to visit our best friend in south-mead hospital) In my eyes this is going that extra mile with the customer service journey. Please pass our thanks on to all the team.

A lovely pub restaurant. Had a Birthday meal here with my family. The first thing we noticed was the wonderful decoration of this place~ the coins behind glass on the walls and the long lines of small Victorian bottles lit up with fairy lights. Lots of seating with comfortable enclosed booths too. Very friendly, polite staff and this pub is dog friendly. All of our meals were delicious, good portions & well presented. Would definitely recommend & will definitely return as my neice lives around the corner. Thank you Inn on the Green.
