Outrageous! Discrimination against people with lung disease!? This is against customer rights.
One of my friends got this whooping cough what is going around, and she has been coughing for days now. She was in the toilet at Craft Cow coughing, and when she came out, one of the staff members said to her, "You are not allowed to order more drinks because you were vomiting in the toilet." Despites she was not ordering anything just wanted to come back to our table from the toilet.
She hadn't even ordered anything, and she wasn't drunk. The staff member just came to her and told her this from the bar when my friend were passing by on her way back to out table. My friend got upset and felt offended about the accusation and the nonsense about refusing her when she was not even asked for anything.
Security got involved and asked her to leave even after we clarified that she is just ill and has been coughing hard for days. They still asked us to leave the premises and the security escorted us out. We spent a good amount of money there, ordered food, and she had only a half pint.
We found out the manager decided to do this. I was talking with her too and clarified that my friend is just ill, has chest problems, and is coughing. She didn't care and asked us to leave. I asked for the book of complaints, but she refused to let me make an official complaint.
So she is discriminating against people who have a cold or lung disease or cancer too? As she had no idea why does she coughing. Even worse if she were vomiting really it could be any other health issues, or food poisoning, but instead of asking her, the girl from the bar accused her being drunk and vomiting and "refused to serve her" even when she were not intended to buy anything, as she still got her half pint and her pizza on the table. Yes, the pub can refuse to serve customers. But for coughing?! Evermore she was not ordering anything from the bar, but the girl at the bar came to her and told her "we not serve you any more drinks because you were vomiting" What kind of treatment is this? What if she have lung cancer? By the way she have chest infection not cancer but they don't know that. The most annoying is they refuse to serve somebody who not even ordering, as she didn't even drink her previous drink. It is mind-blowing how unprofessional this bar management!
I asked the security to call the manager for me. They tried to avoid this by saying "she is busy" but I waited for her. We clarified with her as well she is coughing because she have chesty cough, but she was made ger mind and not even apologized, and didn't do anything with professional manner. I asked the manager to give me the complaint book, and she said they don't have one! I asked her again, as they must have it. Even the security guy was laughing and said they don't have to have it. The manager told me, "I have a personal license."
Well, if she has a personal license and she is the manager, how is it possible she is not aware of this regulation? "Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014: Regulation 16" https://www.cqc.org.uk/guidance-providers/regulations/regulation-16-receiving-acting-complaints
I asked multiple times for the complaints book, and still got the same answer "we don't have to have" because I knew they must have. But then suddenly the manager said, "It is online." and left this subject with this. I asked for the details for the online access, but she didn't have the answer."it's online" she said. She didn't say anything where is it, hot to make official complaint.
They do not have a complaint log and have no idea it is required! How is she the manager here? Very unprofessional staff and management working at the bar.
If you go there, make sure you don't dare to cough, even if you have lung cancer, because they don't ask questions just jump into conclusions and refuse to serve even if you don't order anything. And if you don't like it, you will be escorted out...

I fancied a breakfast today and invited my friend out for a breakfast in Monte Carlos Cafè in Easton Bristol.
Can I firstly take the opportunity to say that I had dined at the Cafè on a few occasions and really enjoyed the food and friendly atmosphere and vibes with a few friends in the past, but today was a different experience which left me and friend feeling really uncomfortable, embarrassed and unwelcome.
We were asked to seat elsewhere in the cafè as we were only two dining rather than a party of however many who wanted to be seated, which I felt was unacceptable and then asked if we could move nearer to the wall.
As my friend objected to be shoved against the wall, I felt it appropriate that we take our leave, rather than stay in an environment that clearly was not making us feel comfortable.
We left, and made our way to the car, and quickly searched places to eat and my friend reminded me that I should tty the Crafty Cow as I'd mentioned this in the past.
I called before arriving and was informed that although they take bookings, just to secure a place there were currently availability until a set time. We hastily drove up the Muller Road, parked at the back as the parking is free for it's customers and was greeted by an employee who warmly greeted us, enquired on our party of diners, had a breif scan and made us aware on the free places where we could be seated until reserved diners were expected.
We took our seats, was offered a beverage, given a menu and left for a brief moment to decide on the menu and what we would select.
I chose the Chicken Supreme, roasted with garlic & herbs, this came with stuffing, roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, yorkshire pudding, gravy and served with seasonal vegetables to share. My friend opted for Hereford Topside of Beef. This was air dried hand carlved, slow roasted topside beef, served medium rare with caramelised shallots.
The presentation was amazing, as was the service, meal which truly was out of this world. I was not expecting such a gourmet experience, but this was beautiful. Every fork lifted into my mouth gave me a tender, spiced experience that I was not expecting. This was marvellous. And at times my pallet tasted a hint of sutle ginger... ummm nooooice, yum
As I ordered an elderflower Spritze, I mixed this with Southern Comfort, which was still ice cold when served earlier a Cappuccino, which was served in a cup, which came with a saucer. My friend ordered a peppermint tea, which was surprisingly served with a cup saucer and came with a teapot, but came Can I say that the food appeared to still hot for ages, as did the Cappuccino and seasonal veg. Maybe this was on account of the cookware was not cheap, but appearing insulated.
After the meal the food must of been sooo hearty that I couldn't contain my glee, and let out a beautiful, announced belch, stored up from the food, it was like inviting those fragrances again into my body, and repetitively letting it out again, ahhh... Nooooice...
I couldn't fit another thing in, but we couldn't leave without a dessert so I went for the sticky toffee pudding served with vanilla ice cream, and my friend had the ice cream on it's own.
We were offered two complementary vodka shots, which was simply amazing. I will revisit on the week day to enjoy the experience all over again with something else.
There is a garden space, which appeared to be huge, and clean as well as the whole area for dining and drinking area.
10/10 Customer service, warm & friendly 10/10 Beverages and food 10/10...

After being informed rather coldly that that table we'd booked was required back at 4 we duly sat and waited. No menus were provided nor drinks orders taken (yes it is table service). While we waited we saw one of the staff laying another table near us which a family was then seated at and their order taken before ours. We needed to ask for the menu which had been provided to other customers.
I ordered lamb, the promise of a braised leg of lamb was too good to pass up and my wife had the pork. Just to increase the variety my son had a child's roast beef.
The lamb was disappointing, where there should have been a tender, moist, flavourful and gooey bit of unctuous meat there was instead a hastily sliced and grilled(!) piece of lamb with little flavour (unseasoned) except for that of the grill itself. The roast potatoes were nothing special and the Yorkshire was clearly frozen. Guys, the key thing about a roast is that at least the meat should be roasted.
My wife's pork had about 70% more meat on than the lamb option leaving me a little frustrated as I had nearly ordered that. Once again the marks on the meat from the grill were a prominent feature, the crispy belly slice was fantastic however and why this review is 2 not 1 star. The vegetables that came with the meal were ok I suppose except for the undercooked cauliflower with sauce that tasted like it came in a sachet from pound-land and the nearly raw carrots.
Crafty cow make a big thing on their menu about how their beef is 38 day aged (ish, can't recall the exact number) which is fantastic but to then ruin it by slicing and grilling instead of slow roasting is abhorrent. The meat on my son's plate was an uneven texture and again, unseasoned.
We didn't stay for dessert.
There are some nice beers although I shudder at a pint of IPA at over a fiver. There's a kids play area with tablets which were not available at the time.
So, points for immediate improvement:
A roast dinner should have tasty roasted meat There should not be more flavour in the vegetables than the meat Clean your griddle Get better at serving people Don't serve one guest a meal that has twice the amount of meat as another. We get it, you're busy. If you tell a customer you need to turn the table quickly then start with "we're really sorry but..." instead of making them feel like a massive inconvenience.
I used to cook roast dinners in a pub, I know what it's like to do them for large numbers of people. I have also cooked one at home every week for nearly 2 decades. I know how to do it, your chef doesn't appear to. Either that or (and this is more likely) someone is trying to give the chef instructions that are more about cost saving and management nonsense than food quality.
We've been twice for a Sunday lunch now so I know that unfortunately this wasn't a bad day in the office. It's the norm. Unlikely to go again or any food except chips which is a shame because it has so much promise and is within walking distance of my house.
