Read more#LocalGuides We went to #PetworthHouse as a family day out and we where not disappointed one bit. Being a #NationalTrust member means getting access to some great places, Petworth house that consists of huge grounds which you can spend hours walking round and enjoying the sights on offer is among the best out there.
The grounds are great with fallen trees and vast open spaces with lakes. You can spend a long time walking round and taking in all nature has to offer.
The House is a great reminder of the wealth and opulence of the period with great artwork and statues on display. Some of the art work is a little dull due to time, however there is normally a member of staff on hand with a little torch to help show them off. The staff are very knowledgeable and lovely to chat with. BE WARNED the nakedness of the status can be very embarrassing when your 6 year old shouts "Daddy look, loads of balls" across the room while you are surrounded by strangers :) (Kids gotta love them).
There is a very lovely cafe on site along with some great outdoor eating areas also if this is what you want to do. This venue does have some wheelchair accessible places however if memory serves not everywhere is.
This is a great place which I will have to be visiting...

The car park is also right next to the Visitor Reception area for Petworth and all important toilets. As well as being a visitor reception area, it also seems to double as a shop/garden shop. I'm not sure how that works, but it's there if people...
