Quite Ok. Small portions, I went for fish and chips. A bit too oily and hardly any chips. The venison was not too bad - it had pasta which was quite tasty. Soft drinks available is sparse. Staff aren't the best - one mentioned it was somebody's birthday who was having a meal there, thinking they might do something more like most places. Anything really. The Waiter mentioned perhaps a candle, she said she'd check with the manager. But she forgot all about it, or more likely they don't do anything for those celebrating a Birthday there. Miserable really.
One of the staff there at the bar was very rude when we asked a basic question. I had a rough experience there. One thing they did is ask if the meal was good when we were paying. Obviously, even if we said it was reasonable they'd not do anything about it to make it better. There are better places to eat. Not sure about the drinking - those at the bar were quite excited, and this place seems a great place to get drunk and "rowdy" than to enjoy a reasonable evening out. The premises looks nice, but the food is overpriced, it is ok, and it is more suited to be a bar than somewhere to serve food. The tables were sticky as well, so they don't wipe them as they should.
Will I go there again. Once is enough. They need much nicer staff and they need to actually care enough - ashame really. I'll try Gourmet Society - might come up with better places that are more accommodating. First time I felt uncomfortable in a Pub/ Restaurant. I would have been better off putting a picnic together and going somewhere nice with a good view in the background. One can enjoy themselves more this way.
Hopefully it'll improve very soon. I might visit only if they do something particularly different in the food they serve, or offer something interesting. I didn't like the sarcasm of the staff - that is the word. One shouldn't treat customers in that way, they did!! I'd say the mechanics in a fast fit centre offer better, more polite service - that is saying...
Read moreAbsolutely gob smackingly terrible time here! When we arrived it appeared the kitchen was shut and so the main menu was no longer an option. We had to order off the BBQ menu. Lots of options, chicken wings, skewers, halloumi, pork belly, koftas. And lots of salads to choose from. We picked lots of different things that we could share as a group of three. When it arrived, initially we thought only one dinner had arrived, but no, it was everything we had ordered. Tiniest portions I have ever seen in my life. The ‘pork belly bites’ we ordered turned out to be one single 2 inch squared piece of pork, which they charged for £9.50!!! One piece of halloumi which cost £7, and the salad we ordered I kid you not was hardly bigger than a thimble full. We were gobsmacked that they could charge so much for one bite plates. It was hardly enough for one person and came to £50. I then asked the waiter if that really was it and expressed most surprise at the prices they charged versus the quantity. He then brought us what was “leftover on the bbq” which was a lot of extremely dry chicken skewers which filled us up a little more than we’d been but were hard to choke down. Then as we left, a swamp of some sort of waste water started filling up the courtyard. Really wouldn’t recommend, feel incredibly ripped off and criminal the amount they charge for the...
Read moreA pleasant arrival with a friendly face greeting us … had we been before but were able to sit in the garden (better) this was possible due to the weather. We were efficiently shown to our table against a wall close to the bar and extremely noisy coffee machine and grinder. The usual hubbub was playing out from the inner bar area with noisy with staff crashing things about. The seats were wooden, no cushions (but they arrived when requested) . My partner didn’t like anything on the starter menu so we went straight to main. I ate the” Scott Free Range Pulled Pork Hash”. Food arrived my partner fish and chips was good. My Hash was in a small is bowl and was arranged in a steaming heap, it wasn’t altogether un-tasty however there wasn’t enough of it and in my view not worth the £15 price tag. My partner does not drink so we asked to see the non-alcoholic cocktails. We were told this wasn’t possible as the person who makes them is at their other venue, no Non-alcoholic drinks were shown on the board or in the menu and we had to have a verbal run through. This was the usual, Pepsi, Appletise, lemonade and not anything particularly exciting. The meal was nearly £60 for two with the optional charge which we gave. Over hall a rather drab experience, over priced in my option for the service level and...
