Stefano's — Local services in City of Edinburgh

First time trying this place and the first impression is really bad. I ordered in the shop. Ordered a single jumbo sausage (one of only 2 things available). When I arrived home and opened it, I wasn't sure whether id been given a supper or they were being generous, as there was a small portion of chips in with it. It is actually an insult to put them in there as they were old and rock hard!! Seriously bad standards. I ordered a Pizza too but wasn't impressed. Checking my change when I got home it would seem that I was short changed (matching against their online menu). Looking at other reviews I'd have to agree that the staff weren't very friendly and blanked me when I wished them a good night. I'll never visit this...

Ordered a pizza which came half cooked and soggy last week, they offered a replacement pizza and to phone up whenever I wanted it which I did yesterday. When I spoke to them about the replacement they offered garlic mayo as my original had this which was nice of them. After 2 hours of waiting I phoned to see if something was wrong and the guy told me to wait which I did for a further 45 mins. Pizza arrived half cold and without any garlic mayo. It’s not hard to get an order right and if for some reason it is wrong I would expect a company to try extra hard to fix this with a customer. I’m a sous chef (manager) and I wouldn’t give out this type of service....

18th April 2019 Bought 2 reg portions of chips. Chips in Stefano's fish and chips are normally OK - if anaemic/undercooked, a typical fish & chip shop problem - while their fried fish is excellent. However this time the chips were rubbish - many had black patches (rotten/poisonous) on them, which should have been cut out or binned, and quite a number of them dark brown, possibly leftover fried chips from the day before that have been refried. If so quite unacceptable. Probably some careless couldn't care less person doing the chips. Pull your socks...
