Morrisons — Local services in Doncaster

Christmas shopping today 22/12/24 at Morrisons Balby was utter nonsense. The following complaint was not a result of the MORE card glitch! I will never shop at this store ever again!

Your clever higher management have decided that the Company policy to replace tills and conveyors plus staff and wage reduction in favour of self service machines.

There were at least over 100 trolleys in the queues down aisles and up aisles and then down more aisles since 10.30 this morning. We eventually were served at 13.00. Domino effect of people jumping queues and an offending couple reducing your supervisor to tears after barging in and refusing to join the queue are the direct result of your staffing and service policy. Shame on Morrisons! Never again!

Your management on site must be rubbing their hands with sales figures and their annual bonuses but the majority of people in these queues were extremely dissatisfied with your firm and I doubt whether they will ever shop here again! Poor vision and policy from your Company! Only 6 tills for a store this size is ludicrous. I will now shop at Aldi or Asda from now on after 28 years of loyal Morrison shopping! NOT ENOUGH TILLS TOO MANY SELF SERVICE MACHINES. I will never EVER shop here...

The car park is very confusing. The large slab of wood we had in the boot careered wildly left and right as we circumnavigated the slalom and switchback entrance, ending up in the bus turning circle for the park and ride. In the cafe we ordered 2 breakfasts. Asked if the sausages were gluten free and they said no but they had gluten free bread. Used to not having sausages due to them not being gluten free. When it came there where 2 sausages on the plate the lady said were meat free. Not what we asked for. I asked if they were gluten free and explained they probably still had wheat in, she then offered to go and put some meat ones in which still weren’t gluten free. She said she would bring the toast over. The toast finally arrived after I’d finished eating. The half tomato on the plate didn’t look like it had seen any form of heat although it did look like it had some kind of ordeal. The capuchino from the machine was just slightly more than luke warm and half full. The cafe area was freezing cold. Fortunately the shop had a nice selection of cooked hams and cheese so grabbed some...

Popped in to the cafe for my lunch as passing. It was OK. I ordered my food at the self service touchscreen which was really easy, but by the time I'd got back to my table someone else had ordered their food from the till and sat there. The staff were helpful to change my table. There were no large cups when I got to self serve sift drinks. The young man at till apologised and said I was welcome to top up if I needed to... which I did due to paying the extra for a large drink!! Really this option should be removed from the self service if not available. Then when my burger came after 35 minutes, it had a few spinach leaves, not salad and tomato as described and no burger sauce either. I put my own mayo on. I paid extra for the sweet potato fries which were overcooked and tasted burnt. The burger tasted nice, and the staff were nice. I didn't mention it as I needed to eat and get back to work. If I go in again I'll probably just go to the hot deli counter next time...
