Highfield Coffee Social — Restaurant in Doncaster

I have been going to Highfield since it opened and have recommended it so many times to friends and family. However, on the last two occasions I have been very disappointed. I will say that the first was due to the atmosphere. It was extremely busy which is understandable as it’s a popular place but there were dogs everywhere, barking and fighting. Unfortunately it really put me off so we left rather quickly. I know you are dog friendly, which is great but this was extremely overwhelming and off-putting. The second visit was around 2.40 on a Saturday, as we walked in the staff were mopping and closing down. I thought we’d arrived too late and you were closing earlier than I realised. You are in fact open until 4pm and yet the staff were extremely put off by customers coming in. I felt rushed and my friends food was abruptly put on the table, no offering of sauces etc and the staff member walked away so quickly she was still saying thank you as she walked into the kitchen. A table arrived next to us around 10 minutes later and a staff member approached asking if they were going to order food, upon hearing yes, it was ‘I’m not rushing you to order but also I am as the kitchen closes soon’. As someone who works in a busy cafe and can understand the pressures of working in hospitality, I don’t like to or ever complain. However, I don’t usually experience this kind of behaviour first hand. It would be nice to return to a more pleasant atmosphere and happier staff members sometime...

Discovered this little gem today and it’s right on my doorstep! For some reason I was under the impression that it was like a work canteen for businesses in that area but it’s definitely open to the general public!

The atmosphere is lovely, lots of seating at the time we went and dog friendly. The food selections were plentiful with lots of delicious choices. They have a breakfast serving and a lunch serving. We visited at lunch time and I opted for a jacket potato with beans and cheese and loved how it was presented allowing you to add the toppings how you wished. Also had a lovely hot chocolate which was also delicious.

The staff here were very friendly and helpful, you are able to take a seat and place your order by scanning a QR code and the order is brought to your table. It was clean, tidy and presentable.

There is also toilet facilities in the reception area.

Highfield Coffee Social Club is an absolute gem! The place has such a friendly vibe, and the staff are brilliant. They always make you feel so welcome and at home, which is a huge plus.

The menu is fantastic too, with loads of tasty options that cater to different dietary needs. If you're into healthy eating, you're in luck! Their acai bowl is super fresh and packed with fruits and granola – a perfect, delicious start to your day.

The breakfast choices are excellent, whether you’re into breakfast baps, yoghurt and granola, or even customisable porridge bowls. The Greek yoghurt and granola bowl and the acai bowl are particularly delicious and healthy. Plus, you can add all sorts of toppings like fresh strawberries, blueberries, and banana to make it just right for you.
