Hello. Yesterday, i.e. February 26, 2024 at 5:30 p.m., my wife and I came to the Tesco store in Doncaster, Balby, to switch the number and sign a contract with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra phone. I will add that I am your customer and this is not my first contract with Tesco Mobile. The phone was supposed to be for my wife, it's her first phone contract, so I went with her to help her, plus we come from Poland, my wife doesn't speak English fluently, so I wanted to help her even more. From the very beginning we were treated very unpleasantly. Two bratty ladies, probably offended that we interrupted their conversation, reluctantly served us, and the woman who served us in the meantime was writing something on her phone the whole time. While the advisor was reading the terms of the contract, I was explaining everything to my wife so that she understood and accepted it, which irritated both ladies who refused to sell us and said that I couldn't explain it to her in this way and if we wanted the contract, it would be best to do it online. This is undignified and racist behavior that we have not seen anywhere else and I have no intention of leaving it like that. Then we went to Tesco in Edenthorpe where a nice gentleman served us properly and did not make any problems with anything, he gave us time to read the contract and explained everything very well. I'm counting on your reaction on...
Read more"I strongly do not recommend this store and I am deeply disappointed with the level of service. I am 33 years old, and I went shopping with my 28-year-old wife and 9-year-old daughter. Among our purchases was alcohol. At the checkout, I was asked by the staff to show my ID to verify my age, which I did, stating that I am 33 years old. Despite this, the staff insisted on also seeing my wife’s ID because we were shopping together. Unfortunately, my wife didn’t have her ID with her, so the alcohol was not sold to us.
I understand that there are rules, but when it’s clear that someone is 33 years old, shopping with their wife and child, common sense and rational thinking should also come into play, not just blind adherence to rules. This situation was extremely uncomfortable, absurd, and completely illogical. I will never shop at this store again.
If anyone in management wants to take action regarding the staff involved in this incident, I suggest reviewing the camera footage from today around 7:00 PM. I will not be returning...
Read moreIf you’re a vegetarian don’t travel to Tesco superstore Balby Doncaster expecting to buy frozen produce. The freezers had apparently broken, Tesco were waiting on a repair person. Things break, I get it, but management could have used adjacent freezers, put a sign advising customers to ask staff if they could fetch it from the frozen store. Ramp it up Tesco, It’s the week before Easter people are buying for the holiday weekend. Supermarket vegetarian options are still poor in Doncaster but this really was the icing on the Quorn. IMHO this is equivalent to having no frozen meats available for meat eaters- this would not happen! I give two stars to the young female manager who brought me the frozen items I needed from the...
