Sad I didn't write any review 3 years ago. I would give you 5 stars then. That was the best Soft Play Area for my daughter until TODAY ....
Lets start from the beginning. My elder daughter (5yrs old) loved Monkey Bizz since she was 2yrs old. She was playing there a lot. Sometimes over 4 hours a day (when it wasn't very busy). Now she has a little sister (3yrs) and today she was playing with her in UNDER 4s section. She was looking after her all the time.
But today there were more adults then kids in UNDER 4s area. Some kids were playing with three adults (mom + dad + grandma or grandpa). That's why I decided to watch my kids playing from outside the "fence". They saw me I did see them. Today my elder daughter came to me in tears. I asked her what happened. She couldn't explain me she was just saying "I want to go back home".
I went to one of the staff member I saw she was talking to and I asked what did she say to my daughter? Her response was - "I told her she's to old to play in under 4s playing environment". I'm not sure did she ask for my daughters age or not but anyway. She's five and she was playing with her little sister. I asked why all those adults with one kid and three/four adults for one kid in the area is OK and my 5yr daughter with 3yr sister is not?! She said all kids must be supervised by adult. My little one is afraid to play in "MONKEY PLAY FRAME" and my elder likes to play with our little one. I saw my kids all the time. They didn't make any damage. They were playing with other kids so nice.
Maybe change your policies ONE ADULT FOR ONE KID in UNDER 4s area? Will be more kids there and less adults and they could play nicely? My elder daughter was crying and what she said after we closed the doors was - "I don't want to come back here ever again." Maybe next time try to deliver this "message" to parents, not kids?
Good thing - another staff member asked me do I want a refund? No I didn't - we spent almost 2 hours there today and 30mins were left for a happy ending for my kids - unfortunately it was the saddest ending in MB ever.
Would I recommend this soft play area? - YES!!! But only if you have one kid or more kids same age who could play in the same area.
Would give one star after today but just because you offered the refund - one star...
Read moreThis time I was disappointed. We are not coming for the first time, but this time I am not happy at all. We celebrated my son's birthday. We were greeted as usual, the host took the food orders and showed us the table. There was no squash on the table, no box for the children's shoes. I ordered hot drinks (mostly coffee) for the guests, after a 20 minute wait I decided to ask what was going on and when we would receive our order, but it turned out that the coffee machine had just broken down. After 5 minutes the host comes to ask if we want a snack instead of coffee and that they can only make hot chocolate. Where we all choose to drink hot chocolate. When the host brought the hot chocolate, the last one she had to leave on the table was poured on the whole table and under it .... When she cleaned and brought the last hot chocolate, they were already saying on the microphone that we should call the children and go to the party room. We only had time to try the hot chocolate. When we went up to the room there was no music, no squash on the tables. After the children sat down and had to raise their hands for food one by one, the host went out to fetch squash. The party was themed and the children were looking forward to Captain America. When the hero arrived, it was obvious that he was a girl, even my 5-year-old son noticed that. It was nothing special to be honest, it was even a little boring. When giving the cake to the birthday boy, the host lit the candle and I had to remind her to play a birthday song. Everything was happening so slowly that there were 10 minutes left after the children ate, instead of 30 minutes to return to play more. Everything was confused from the beginning to the very end, which is 85% due to the host. The host is the most important, and in our case, it was as if there...
Read moreI took my niece and her friend here yesterday (22-3-14) and they had a whale of a time.
There are so many places for your child to run around and get lost in, without the worry of you losing them for too long.
In fact, if a child does feel they are lost, a member of staff calls thier parents over the tanoy to re-unite them.
To the person moaning about the rope not being secure on the frame gate, come on, seriously, Do you really expect all these kids to secure the rope on a gate being used litterally constantly, it would cause a massive bottleneck at the gate and is completely impractical to (the gate is on a spring and closes itself).
The gates to enter and exit the building are locked permanently and can only be opened by staff, so a little one escaping to the carpark is nigh on impossible.
I didnt try the food here, but what I saw on other tables looked reasonable, so I cant comment beyond that.
As an adult chasing kids through the frames, there are certain areas where the kids will escape, as the gaps are just too small (but ideal for the child being chased) to keep up, No sooner will you get through one gap, they will be be the other side of a wall you cant get through and pulling faces!
Someone mentioned messy tables, yes some were, but I was sitting and watching for a while, and the tables were only messy for about ten minute or so after the previous group left, which I dont think is too bad considering the amount of people and tables the staff had to do deal with.
This place was very busy but seemed safe enough, I would...
