It’s always difficult to review Soft Plays in a way that separates the venue from its users. So I am giving this place the benefit of the doubt with 4 stars.
The venue itself was large, had a big exciting climbing frame as it’s main feature. A generously big toddler climbing frame, two floors, a decent cafe, easy access and plenty of seating. The pricing was good, staff were very friendly and seen to be either serving food or cleaning.
We went later in the day, at 5pm, hoping to encounter less people, but how very wrong we were. This place was packed. I saw zero parents or staff actively enforcing any of the rules of play to their kids. Groups of older kids (5+) olds were charging around the toddler section. The toddlers that were in there, were largely left to it, many of the running up all the slides and incapable of understanding the rules. Lots of awkward interactions, of politely telling other kids to move or stop what they were doing, had to be made, with no way of knowing who the kids belonged to as every table had parents chit chatting away. Saw kids climbing external of the apparatus with no one battering an eyelid. As well as kids sliding chairs around next to Sammy’s sensory room.
In closing, the soft play itself, seems great. But too much time awkwardly manoeuvring around the many family’s and groups of charging older children, made for a less than enjoyable time. We shall try again soon when school time has returned in the hopes to...
Read moreDisgusting behaviour today at ballos from the manager lady. We were 2 adults and 3 kids. They were at full capacity so we had to wait a little for people to leave for health & safety purposes, which is totally understandable. The young lady at the till/entrance has said to us as soon as a total of 5 people leave, we can go in. Everything makes sense so far. They pushed a group of 3 in front of us which we accepted however when I seen that the young lady is trying to get another 3 people in front of us but I have physically witnessed 6 people exit so I decided to ask what's going on and why are we not next. Then the manager who was also in the vicinity, started to give me a lot of attitude. I'm sure she was trying to explain the system however the way she was going about it was wrong (in front of a crowd of people and most importantly children). I did have to remind her that she can't talk to me like I'm a child, I'm still a customer and regardless of they're busy or not, they are still there to do a job. She was shrugging her shoulders a lot ( in a I'm not bothered manner) and even decided to show her authority by saying to me that they actually just cleared a table for 5 but I can't have it now. I had to leave with 3 upset children. Disgusting behaviour that cannot be fixed by a complaint because it's about the manager not a worker. The best I can do Is spread the word here and also on my personal Facebook, Instagram and to...
Read moreI am not sure where to begin, a big song and dance is made to its users by making them queue down the street. When you finally get in, your politely asked to sit at your table and your orders will be brought to you. If you walk about, masks are to be worn. Other than that you can forget social distancing ever existed and age ratings of the play areas. There is no control of who goes where, my 9 month old was nearly trampled in the baby part numerous times even with me and my wife there. The staff are very nice, however nobody mentions anything to a 7 year old climbing the netting in the baby part or even questions them in there. I understand children are excited to be there, however it is an absolute circus. Children and adults are running everywhere. The emphasis seems to be on how many they can get in rather than let in. I apologize but I have tried this place twice and twice it has been totally out of control with too many people jammed in. I do not recommend and will not be going again with my little one. It might be safer when...
