Byford's Food Hall — Local services in Great Britain

I very rarely write reviews but felt I had to say something on this occasion!!

Byfords were recommended to us recently for the terrific quality of their meat and the fact that they will cook joints for you!

We had a combined birthday party and BBQ last weekend for 44 people and I wanted to do something special. I visited byfords the week before and after speaking to the butcher for 15-20 minutes, I ordered a pork joint and 2 lamb shoulders. I wanted the pork cooked like a hog roast with the meat literally falling off the bone and the butcher also said he could prepare the lamb in the same way.

I collected the 3 cooked joints on Sunday 90 minutes before my guests started arriving. I also picked up on the day a selection of their award winning sausages as well as 45 freshly made beef burgers and sirloin steak and chicken skewers.

All the cooked meat was in an insulated box and I was assured this would keep hot for several hours.

I cooked the sausages, burgers and kebabs on the BBQ ( very easy) and we laid out everything for people to eat at 4.30pm.

The pork was absolutely beautiful.....the lamb was even better, the best I have ever tasted and I say that without a hint of exaggeration..... and I was not alone in that regard!

Our family and friends were literally gushing in praise! My best mate is a South African and prides himself on his BBQ's and the meat he gets and he was blown away.

Although tempted to claim the credit, I did make clear Byfords had done the hard work and we just served it!!

We as a family have already discussed having joints cooked for Sunday roasts when we all get together as the cooking option is only a few pounds and the result is outstanding.

I could go on but basically, if you are having a large BBQ or even a large family dinner, I cannot recommend Byfords strongly enough.

This was a must visit for us on a recent trip to the area we used to live in almost 20 years ago.
