I took my 6yo son to watch the new superman. For 2 tickets, 1 coke in a superman cup and 2 EMPTY krypto popcorn buckets with a medium popcorn which we had to use to fill the krypto buckets cost a staggering £127. This is UTTERLY shameful. The film itself was good but in no world should it cost £127 for 1 adult,1 child, 1 coke, 1 popcorn and a couple of EMPTY popcorn buckets.
The movie industry is always the first to complain when people resort to piracy but in the face of being charged £127 to take your child to the cinema to be subjected to 30 minutes of adverts and armed forces propaganda with lengthy adverts for army, navy and air force recruitment with a big banner saying the film is sponsored by the royal navy? (My tickets clearly weren't sponsored by anyone)
I think it's absolutely disgusting, I wasn't given any form of receipt to check or contest the prices. No real customer service given with staff just stood on groups having conversations amongst themselves.
Cineworld is a joke and I would never recommend people using them especially if other options like odeon, streaming or piracy...
Read moreIf you like a high chance of catching Covid whilst paying 10 to 15 pounds per couple more than Odeon (£6.50 per ticket normal screen showing), then Cineworlds the place for you, went to watch a film in Imax, booked seats prior but on arrival no member of staff showing customers to their seats, on getting to our seats found several teenagers had already pitched up their sweets and drinks in them, although very polite when we mentioned they were in the wrong seats, decided just to move to allow no gap between us and them, film was just starting so couldn't get a member of staff to sort without missing the beginning of the film, I normally visit Eagles Meadow Odeon, and must say since up and running after Covid restrictions allowed, Odeon to me wins hands down, think this was my first and last visit, major factors, yes free parking at Broughton but pay more for the tickets than the Odeon and paying for parking at Eagles Meadow still works out cheaper, plus Covid measures are better policed...
Read moreDaughter & I went to Cineworld to watch Mamma Mia 2. Only seats free were right in the front so booked them as we were making the most of having Mother & Daughter time without the Grandchildren around, as much as we love them, it is nice to catch some just Mum & Daughter time 😊 We took our seats ready to enjoy the film, the adverts came on and made it very apparent that the seats were going to be very unsuitable and almost impossible to watch the film..another family of 4 also felt the same and went and got their money back..these front row seats should NOT even be there! It is Impossible to watch a film THAT close to the screen! Luckily enough there was an empty seat behind us so I sat in that one (NOT MUCH BETTER..ENDING UP WITH A STIFF NECK & BACK!) But my daughter ended up sitting on the steps! You dont pay £12.50 to sit on the damn steps!! 😠 I agree that the place is kept clean & tidy BUT the seating in the front...
