Went to Chiquito Broughton today for lunch. The starter of crispy halloumi with jalapeno jelly was really lovely, nicely crisped and very tasty. Would order again.
Our mains were satisfactory and filling, wouldn't necessarily order them again though, a burger is a burger no matter how you present it but will order something else next time we visit.
Unfortunately today quite a few things were unavailable due to non deliveries.
Drinks - husband's Malbec was to his liking, my Margarita was terrible: glass wasn't salted and overall taste was very bitter - exchanged it for a glass of Rose which was much better.
Out waiter Lee was very knowledgeable when it came to answering our questions about different dishes on the menu that we weren't sure of - would give him 9.5 out of 10 for service. Attentive but not over the top, very friendly and professional at all times. Available as and when we wanted something.

Read moreChiquitos has always been a favourite place to eat for me but the restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent had been closed down. So we were looking forward to eating at the Broughton restaurant on our recent visit to chester. On arrival the restaurant was pretty quiet. The staff were helpful and friendly on entry. My wife has allergies and was catered for excellently. Unfortunately the food was served quite quickly, but when it arrived was rather lack lustre. I ordered the chimichanga which looked and tasted fine but was half the size it normally is, the tortilla chips on the side were stale and tasteless and the amount of salsa/sour cream/guacamole was laughable the only saving grace was the skin on fries were fresh and hot ( for a change). Non of the staff asked if we would like any additional sauces or dips. If this is the way they are serving up food I'm not surprised they are going out...
Read moreSo came in and the place looked nice. Waitress seated us and didn't give us a menu. Asked us what drinks we would like and we asked for a couple of glasses of water. 10 minutes pass, no water no menus. Waitress just keeps looking at us and taking new people to their seats and cleaning random tables. I ask for menus she finally brings us our water. 20 minutes pass, noone has taken our order. Several waiters etc walk past our table and do nothing (bear in mind the restuarant isn't full or busy). I have to ask for someone to take our order. We order an enchilada, a salad bowl and two sides. 45 minutes pass, food finally arrives. The Enchilada is kind of cold after sitting under lamps waiting to be taken to our table. The chicken salad bowl has raw chicken in it.
I do like Chiquitos, however you'd probably make better food at home for cheaper tbh. Deffinitely give this...
