We Came here as a family of 5 today.

2 adults, 4.5year old, 2.5year old and 11month old.

We like to explore new places at a weekend after a long walk or trips out and about and rather than go to McDonald’s we thought we’d give here a try. McDonald’s is amazing in comparison.

We ordered 3 meals for the children, chicken nuggets, fish fingers and a Sunday lunch, they came out cold but to be honest I’m okay with that, at least it means the boys can eat their food without being burnt so fair enough. You can’t really go wrong with this.

We went all out and had 2 challenge meals as it means the kids can snack on our food too if they wanted. We ordered the 3 steak challenge and the sliced steak with cheese dip. Unfortunately this was also ice cold. Not only that but we’d asked for our steak rare and mine in particular couldn’t have been any more well done, it was tough and dry, a burger would’ve been a better option if I wanted it well done. The other half’s meat was rare as asked but unfortunately still stone cold.

We were waiting for someone to come out and ask about our food but no one did and having our hands full as it is we had to feed the little ones. By the time our children had more or less finished and we’d barely touched our food, my partner went in to explain we were a little disappointed. We were met with an awful attitude. The lady spoke to us with disrespect, and when cleaning our plates she grunted “huh, I suppose you’re done with this too then” took the kids plates. No apology and no thank you. This put us off from having our usual Sunday pudding and made us feel unwelcome so we left without.

That said we’ll definitely not be coming here again. The positive is there’s plenty of choice in the area, chiquitos and Nando’s have never let us down and with the typical fast food - McDonald’s and Tim hortons, at least you know what you’re getting and get an excellent customer service in comparison.

Staff were friendly, and food was ok but it seems that "minimum" effort has gone into making the place Covid19 secure. Yes they take your contact details at the door, yes they escort you to your table, yes there are plenty of sanitizer stations and yes they are extremely helpful in taking your order. However some of the chairs when you are sat at your table are most definitely not 2 metres from the nearest person on the adjacent table and not much effort made to section tables off. Also, on the day we visited we counted six people not wearing masks, and I doubt they were all medically exempt particularly one person who kept walking past us to go out for a smoke. If he had breathing difficulties when wearing a mask, I would have thought he shouldn't be smoking. This was our first venture out for a meal since lockdown began. Won't be repeating it any time soon. Have now revisited post Covid and I'm pleased to say that our visit was a much more positive one. Staff were all very helpful and attentive and the food was really enjoyable. Will certainly visit more often again now.

Revisited again yesterday and was really disgusted in how this place has deteriorated since my last visit. I would hazard a guess that there has been a change of management. Television screens are now placed all around the pub. They no longer sell Bitter ale. The place was empty, have never in all my years of frequenting it seen it like this. No member of staff came to ask us if everything was OK and for the last 15 minutes we were there, 3 members of staff were sat noisily at one of the tables. Would give it no stars if it was possible. Will certainly not...

Poor service , awful food

We went yesterday my partner my two year old and myself (pregnant)

As we walked in we asked if there were high chairs where the two members of staff just pointed to parts of the pub to get our own , I then over heard the two members of staff talking very load saying how they like to get out of things like work I didn’t know at the time this was the manager as they were both dressed in scruffy clothing thin leggings didn’t look presentable … so my partners sorts the baby these two watch me struggle getting a high chair from piled high up , it wasn’t a great start as we sat down I noticed how dirty the table was as I looked more there was dust food everywhere ,

Anyway we get that it’s a cheaper place so we order , we went for steak for us , mine came out with uncooked bacon on top , and the steak itself was not good meat this had been left out or was old I refused to eat anymore and got a refund but not after being questioned by both members of staff , partners was ok my son had thrown on a plate chicken nuggets and chips again was fine , I was shocked that the food was so bad and scared this could have made me poorly , and low and behold when I got home I was poorly !

As I said above I’m heavily pregnant and don’t want to have my health put as risk because of lazy sloppy service and neither should you or your family at the end of the day we still went there to buy food ! We do expect it to be clean and edible

We will not be returning and will definitely not recommend!
