M Cwmbran — Local services in Great Britain

Ok, been to other shopping centres that are a lot bigger with more choice of shops including foreign shops and alternative/American sweet shops. If you class the centre as where sports direct is, we’re talking 4 shops are the centre which I don’t really class it as a centre. It’s good they put a range there but apart from that. If you class the whole of town as the centre I would give it 3/5 for the fact it has the shops you need but not enough things to do. People moan about teenagers hanging around but then there’s 15 cafe’s and not enough activities apart from Hollywood bowl, arcade is in there. There’s no mini golf in cwmbran that I’ve found or any other activities such as wall climbing, laser tag, trampoline centre. And as there’s no open space to relax other than the bus station, everyone stays there. There’s no water fountains, proper bench areas and the area by Iceland which could be made nice for people to go hasn’t been touched since when? I moved here 2-3 years ago and that area has always been locked off and isn’t maintained, waste of space. There can be an anti social behaviour problem by the bus station at times or you get a dead town by 7pm, in my opinion most shops close too early but I’m not from here so perhaps it’s just odd to me that the town is dead by that time. I’ve listed a lot of activities they could put in the centre instead of the 15th cafe but I doubt they will ever introduce it, which is unfortunate. There is no soft play or childcare directly in the town either, which I think would be useful and make money. Too many cafes and too many vape shops. They do have a theatre but it seems quite quiet and when I’ve checked what’s on, doesn’t seem like there’s much going on. You do have the necessities such as Poundland, a pharmacy, home bargains and a McDonald’s which I guess is quite busy. The Wetherspoons pub in town seems to cater to a lot of people and it’s good they have a pub in town but other activities would also be good particularly for the age range of 0-16...

As someone who has lived in this area for 36 years, I am saddened by how cwmbran town centre has become a shell of its self

There used to be Dixon's where O2 is now, Game and Gamestation

Multiple DVD and music stores Asda was right at the top, if you look carefully in the car park under where asda used to be, you can see the walkway that used to lead up to the stores by Argos

They bricked that up but you can still see it and if your agile even reach it, if anyone does do that send me some photos via this review or something, would love to see how it looks now after being left

Argos closed, David Evans closed, M&S closed, Game closed, Gamestation Closed, few DVD shops closed (one where the big toy shop is now, that was a large DVD and music store, rivaled HMV at the time before they closed, then there was the one where Starbucks and boots opticians are, that used to be one unit, think it was called silver screen) There used to be a small Game shop up where the Warhammer store is now, they were a family run store, sold games for cheap, think they also bought them

All that you see now In cwmbran is pawn stores, vape stores and Gambling dens

Disgusting, they don't even put up the lights for Christmas anymore, you think the tiny lights they do now are good, the old way they did it was way better

Comet closed to become NEXT

They closed the little cinema near the in shops, stopped the fountain from working and now even the In shops are closing around 50% of the in shops are empty now

Even that shop that dealt in sowing materials went

I Went to Primark and it wasn't busy, you can park right out side which is amazing. 🌻 There is two floors, which is Men, Women, Children, Home Products. It wasn't busy, you can walk around gracefully. 🌻 Plenty of items in stock, very organised and clean and tidy. Staff were great. Very happy to help me when I couldn't find an item. 🌻 Everyone respected everyone. No pushing, no pulling, no mess, no attitudes with anyone. Everyone seemed quite happy. 🌻 There was a little que, but that went down very fast. Lds of staff working, which helps a lot. 🌻 I will definitely be returning 🌻 the staff were lovely and helpful, the lady at the till folded my items up lovely and packed them. 🌻 I told her thank you and that she didn't had to do that, but I was very grateful for her help. 🌻 I am not very good at packing shopping. 🌻 🌻 I would like to say a big thank you to the lady with the blue going through her hair. 🌻 Thank you sweetheart for all your help. 🌻 You were very kind and helpful 🌻🌻🌻 I look forward in returning to your store. 🌻 🌻 🌻 😊 😊...
