I was truly embarrassed by the manager of your Cwmbran store this evening. I met up with wedding photography clients of mine for drinks at your pub, and we ordered our drinks as usual which was fine. Out of the clients who came along, one of them was a designated driver and bought cola, as she was not drinking alcohol. I ordered cocktail pitchers via the app on my phone to the table, for the 3 of us who wanted alcohol. The pitchers arrived and your staff ID’d our table, though our designated driver did not have her ID, and your staff asked her to leave. We explained that she was not drinking (as evidenced by her receipt of Coca Cola) and car keys, and that we only ordered 3 glasses for the pitchers - there were 4 of us. The staff member checked with the store manager and confirmed that she was to leave the premises as a result of no ID. As my wedding client had her laptop with her to show me her wedding plans, she had a scanned copy of her passport with date of birth, which your staff refused to accept. At no point does your app say that anyone other than the people consuming the alcohol need ID. I asked to speak to the manager, who was incredibly rude and non understanding. We are all clearly over the legal age of ID, and you have embarrassed both my clients and my business. Your manager who’s name I did not get, refused to offer a refund for our drinks, and was thoroughly unapologetic. We did not drink one sip of the pitchers that arrived. I am very offended by the service received, and want a full explanation as to why the store manager was not able to issue a refund. His demeanour and personality was absolutely disgusting, and I feel utterly embarrassed in front of wedding clients. I want a full refund and an apology from him. I truly cannot believe how unsympathetic and rude your management is. We will not...
Read moreWent here for a chicken wrap and a pint yesterday at around 1:30pm. Went inside to sit down while having a pint, and politely requested a staff member to clean a previously used table as there was no tables available. Upon requested, a staff member proceeded to pull out a dry rag and wipe the table for one second with complete disregard and very poor hygiene. On camera as well. I then requested to the team leader present to clean it properly and asked to make a complaint, and I was met with hostility from the young woman and accused of having "attitude" for wanting to make a complaint. Completely out of order. I was offended.
I was then rudely requested to put my pint in a plastic cup and dismissed from the premises shortly after without reasonable cause just for wanting to make a complaint. Something the staff did not want to do instead try instigate a scene in front of people. At this stage I already had the phone in my hand writing a complaint to Wetherspoons on their site, which was submitted very shortly after.
I proceeded to go to the bar and then being told again I had to leave without any reasonable cause, just for wanting to make a complaint in a polite manner. With no exchange of bad words (unlike the impolite staff), I told the staff member this is out of order I said "I'll leave but this is blatant mismanagement and abuse of power",as staff such as team leader are clearly trying to bully a customer out of making a complaint. Never going...
Read moreJust walked in to have a meal about two hours ago (6pm) group of 6 to be exact and got harassed so by a security guard because I had no ID refused to let me complete a track and trace form which i thought was mandatory and wouldn’t even let me through the door. (Woman security guard blonde medium build) starting shouting at me and my friend as I was trying to explain that I had gotten my ID stolen a week ago and that I was buying food and not drinking alcohol anyway. Me and my boyfriend and friends just wanted to have a meal and watch the rugby, (everyone other time I have gone I have been greeted with respect by other security guards even without ID on occasions, which is what a business should be about, respect and kindness not being targeted and made felt unwelcome and caused a scene because of how loud and threatening she was) I had people stood near me saying they would be embarrassed and devistated if they was treated that way,my friends that were male were not asked for ID when usually they are asked as they look very young, and was let right in where as me and my friend(female) where shouted at infront of everyone. “Stop messing about show me your ID” “ID now” “you are not coming in then are you” I was very polite which I very much regret I’m never going to spoons again a complete...
