Absolutely rubbish, do not recommend. I went for lunch with some close family members today and certainly will not be coming back any time soon. To start, we had wonderful service, our server was a wonderful lady named Tia. She seated us and took our orders. Whe. We got the food was when it started going down hill. To start, I ordered 'Tacos' (DO NOT ORDER!) and it was one of the worst things I've ever experienced. There were these spicy chilli peppers (which quite frankly tasted a lot more spicy than a chilli since I can handle those) all over the Tacos, and they weren't even stated on the menu. It doesn't just end there and I wish it did, I could not eat any more of my food as I felt so sick after eating one of those peppers on accident and it ruined my day. Moving on to the second major issue, my mother ordered the 'dirty burger' which was just your standard burger with pickles and onion rings inside. It started off with tasting okay, despite how large and difficult it was to eat. My mother then flipped over the burger, and to her disgusting discovery, the burger bun was moldy (see picture below⚠️). We informed our server and she was an absolute angel about it, she was sympathetic and gladly got the manager (Anthony, I believe his name was) and I cannot say the same about him. This man did not care one bit, he just took the food and acted like nothing happened. He told us he would take the food of the bill and did he do that? No! Our total bill originally was £36 and he took £11 off, meaning were only having drinks free, he told us we would not be paying for my mother's meal(£16) and my tacos(around £7). So we again informed our server and she agreed that this was wrong. So she went and worked some magic and managed to get our bill down to just £11. Now some people may call this petty and pathetic, but I've never really liked Harvester, it was just where most people liked so I forced myself to like it. Overall, I do NOT recommend coming to this restaurant and establishment. The food was horrible and unhygienic and the menu was incorrect (and in my opinion, overpriced). Our server, Tia, on the other hand was the light in this experience and was an absolute dear(give this woman a raise!!). TRIGGER WARNING FOR THE PHOTO BELOW⚠️⚠️🤮🤢

Me and others went here around 8pm - and was one of the few places we could use for food quickly. And it was the worse harvester food we've all ate, which was a shame. The server was lovely, and friendly and explained its been manic due to the rugby. - First, there was no chicken available apart from the rotisserie, which is understandable. - But, the quality of the food was so poor! The skewer plate: the pitta style bread was solid, to put food in it felt like it was a cracker between the meat. - Surf and turf: The whole dish looked awful, portion size was shocking (for reference that's the photo you can see), looked like the very last items of the night been thrown together. The 'medium' steak was cremated, the chicken was dry. The whole dish felt like it was the very last items put together, and cooks who were tired and couldn't be bothered with quality. - cheese garlic bread: I've personally never known cheesy garlic bread, go be a cut piece of bread, with cheese, sprinkled on top... the second photo you can see. The bread was stale and awful. Honestly, We were starving and weren't expecting anything spectacular and we did eat it all. Because hungry people never leave food. The server was lovely, she was at the end of a busy day and long shift. We was going to complain, but honestly felt thats the last thing we wanted to put on her shoulders, and that with the added that we wanted to leave. Considering the bill came to £86 for all of us, it felt like we threw money away but too hungry to decline anything. Real shame, I certainly wouldn't rush here again. I have no doubt it was manic, and no doubt everyone just wanted to go home. But the quality was so poor. (Chips were fresh, is the only positive?)

The food was good although I felt the portion of the pork belly was a little small for what is expected of a meal that size. However I was quite full from the salad bar. I felt the service especially the waitress Lowri went above and beyond that of any previous Harvester experience. I was made to feel comfortable with allergens and when there wasn't a suitable gluten free desert with coffee I was especially pleased with the resolution. My son really enjoyed the salad bar and said to me Daddy there service and food is alot better than the previous harvester this is 100 we're as that was 10. Can we come back again! The pepsi was a little flat so drank alternative wasn't that fussed on the soft drinks. Felt the quality could be beeter. Would have been nice for a Fanta. Atmosphere was OK, would have like a bit of christmas music. We will come back again. Many thanks Table 15 order 1070

Terrible experience had at Cwmbran harvesters. Went for lunch with my partner and daughter Monday and left feeling angry and upset by the whole experience. Myself and my partner ordered our food that wasn’t the problem,I then ordered a child’s salad for my daughter as she really doesn’t like any dishes from the kids menu. She’s a small eater when we are out and only eats 1-2 small buns and a few spoon fulls of pasta from the salad cart so we always order a child’s salad bowl and have never had any problems doing this at other harvesters we have been too. Our 2 meal were standard, 5-6 over cooked chips each, barely enough to feed a child let alone an adult. When the bill came I was shocked to see that I was charged £4.49 for a child’s salad. I’ve ordered my daughter a salad from a few harvesters around Newport and Cardiff and have always been charged a child’s portion at around £1.99. I queried this with the waitress and she snapped saying we don’t do child’s salads!! Why was I not told this when I ordered my meal. If she had politely said “sorry we don’t do child’s salads” then I would have gone elsewhere for lunch. Instead she took our order without informing us that they in fact do not do children’s salads. When I asked her why she didn’t inform us of this her reply was “she didn’t need to inform us of this”. Surely If you do them you need to tell the customer so they can at least try and choose something else or eat elsewhere. What made things 10 times worse was the fact I asked to speak to the manager. What a load of help he was!! From the moment he came to the table he was very rude, abrupt and kept talking over me. I was informed again that they do not provide children’s salads and I have to pay for an adults salad. £4.49 for 2 rolls and a few spoon fulls of pasta seems like daylight robbery to me. I told the manager I was not happy paying this price and he really didn’t care at all. Ended up paying the bill and walking out very angry and upset. My poor daughter was upset by the whole experience. I will not be using Cwmbran harvesters again that’s for sure. Rude staff and disgraceful manager who clearly needs a few classes in...

Visited today for my parents 27th anniversary and was very disappointed with our visit.

We arrived around half past 8 and were seated right away. Shortly after a member of staff came over to take our drink orders and a few minutes later took our food orders.

We visited the salad bar first and there wasn't a great selection of salad but that's understandable as I believe it's slightly reduced due to covid measures. We asked for bread rolls and was told they would bring them over, it took 10 minutes for someone to bring them. During our salads the team had started cleaning down the Restaurant and bringing out the breakfast equipment ready for the morning shift.

Shortly after we finished our salad our mains were brought out. All of the meals had loaded fries which was missing half the ingredients, just a drizzle of cheese sauce on each portion no bacon or onion to be seen. Pretty confident the BBQ sauce on the pit master meals was just harvesters own brand instead of the sticky Jim Beam sauce. We also ordered onion rings and fries, the onion rings were overcooked and looked like they had been sat around for a while. I had the mixed grill which didn't look appealing, the eggs were drenched in oil as if they'd been chucked in the frier to warm up before serving. It was missing the peas, onion rings and beef dripping sauce which I asked for. I asked about the missing items and they said they would get them, this took another 10 minutes and it came out burnt. Whilst we were eating our main meal there was someone spraying down cutlery with disinfectant right next to our table which wasn't ideal, we asked them to stop and they did. I went to refill my drink shortly after and the machine had been taken apart for cleaning, nobody informed us of this and I was only told as I was trying to get myself another drink. They offered to get one from the main bar for me. Staff definitely seemed more concerned about closing the store and getting it clean so they could finish early as possible. Wasn't offered deserts but I'm pretty sure they kitchen had been closed down at this point anyway. Wouldn't recommend, definitely...
