The stalls in market place are lovely - absolutely love the bread/cake stall some real delicious treats there!

There is a veg/fruit stall on northbrook st that also appears, opposite wilkos - he is sort of letting the side down! Bizarre experience today where he rather loudly shouted at us for wanting to check if the avocados were ripe before buying. He complained to other customers that we “squeezed at least 6 or 7 already” and that “it wasn’t fair to other customers”.

Checking that your fruit is ripe is an entirely normal act in most markets across this entire globe. Plus, avocados have skin…which isn’t edible! Very odd behaviour - my only possible explanation is that none of them are good...

I came from Reading because I had a free day and I saw on the internet that it's one of the best markets around. That's the last time I buy from a fruit seller outside Wilkos , i brought £10 worth of raspberries they looked beautiful in the front , the ones he gave me front the back are all mouldy old stock all the inside are mouldy , he shouldn't have sold them especially with the weather we've had , I stopped buying off fruit sellers for this reason years ago , now I've fallen for the same old trick...
