We did the coastal walk today with Crail being our final destination. What a beautiful town! We were delighted to find this cafe before our bus back to Pittenweem. Very convenient that the bus stop is right beside the cafe!
The shop is wonderfully curated with a fantastic selection of art books especially ones I had never heard of, the content I found was very inspiring and inclusive. The selection of baked treats was so good that I had a hard time deciding what to get! I went for this delicious raspberry and pistachio bite that was exactly what I needed. The store owner was lovely and super informative and the staff were very helpful and accommodating (especially when we changed our minds and asked to have our things to go instead of eat in incase we weren’t able to finish our food before the bus would come!) I thought the shop and cafe were priced well for the quality you are receiving and would definitely recommend this to anyone passing through especially artists looking for a good read for a boost of creative inspiration.
Visited today for the first time. On the one hand I recognise the difficulty of opening and running a business in a small village. On the other hand I didn’t think it very good value. The cappuccino I ordered did not look very appealing but once it cooled a bit revealed that it had been made with excellent coffee. The cake was absolutely fine but I do not exaggerate when I say that it was the smallest piece of cake that I’ve ever been served. It was £3.50 so not expensive but I would have rather paid a bit more and had a more normal sized serving. My wife ordered two ice creams and a coffee and it came to over £16. She queried it at the time and was assured that the sum was correct. When she told me what happened I assured her it was not possible, she queried it with someone else and was eventually refunded nearly £4.00. It was busy and mistakes can be made but could have been rectified earlier. Honestly, I’d go back, it’s s nice place in a nice spot. Hopefully for a bigger piece of cake next time!
