Stade is an Anglo Saxon word for landing place, the Hastings fishing fleet is drawn up on the beach here It is well worth looking around the boats, but the area is an Industrial one, there are many hazards to be aware of There are many boats on the beach, plus nets, flags, traps, bulldozers, winch cables, and other necessary equipment needed for fishing. Also there are retired boats, rather dilapidated.
