Avoid at all costs, especially if you’re looking for a gluten-free meal
This establishment served me one of the top 3 worst meals I’ve had in my 39 years on this planet. Hands down, no contest. It was so bad that, afterwards, I went to eat somewhere else.
If anyone working at this restaurant sees this review, please, let it be an invitation/opportunity to do better for your customers avoiding gluten. We have eyes, and tastebuds too.
Why was my meal so bad? Let me explain.
I ordered ham with two eggs, salad, and slaw. Not the greatest of options to be honest but it was literally that or a jacket potato - or a generic and uninspired-sourcing panini.
So I went for the ham option. And boy oh boy!
Firstly, there was a hair on my eggs. Then the ham, which I expected to be roasted (you know, like gammon?)… it was literally sliced deli ham. Lukewarm. Extra salty. It was so awful it made me tell my eating companion that I’d swear off ham forever after that. Just the memory of it right now is turning my stomach…
The plate also arrived not with slaw but with tasteless cardboardy chips (the kind that you bite into and feel like mashed potato instead of fresh potato?) The salad was a 1/2 cm slice of tomato on two leaves of lettuce. No dressing. No love.
The combination of extra-salty pink and lukewarm thin ham, two eggs smothered in clear oil, a hair, pseudo salad and cardboard-like chips was so awful that I honestly wanted to gag and I don’t say that lightly. The memory still haunts me.
Please. Do better.
There are so many gluten-free options you can pursue! Buy some gluten-free veggie burgers/patties and keep them frozen until you need them. Offer the eggs on gluten free toast with avocado. Buy some gluten-free pasta and put that on your permanent menu. So many foods you could serve! Please...
Read moreThis place seems to think it’s set in central london when charging 12.50 for a breakfast in a struggling seaside and £4.95 for 2 slices of toast? £8.95 for egg on toast? This place is an absolute con.staff are absolutely clueless and the women that wasn’t English was terrible.about as much use a chocolate fire guard! And p.a fishers butchers is no way locally sourced stuff. We stopped using that butcher years ago as it’s about as locally sourced as sugar cane! So how they can say p.a fishers meat is locally sourced is a complete lie! Will never return to here. We had to ask for cutlery and sauces with a breakfast. These things should come without asking. Run by a bunch of money grabbing con artists. Not fit and cost offevti r for locals.this is set up for Londoners not hastings people but wasn’t it our taxes that funded this in the...
Read moreWe stopped off here for breakfast and was very happy that we had. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick. The food was very tasty, fresh, and well cooked with quality ingredients. The seating was unique, an array of different chairs. I sat on an old school chair, metal framed with a wood backing and seat. It brought a smile, as did the food and cappuccino. I would really recommend this place to anyone wanting a good place to enjoy some time with others. The pricing was reasonable, and plenty of seating options were available, 2, 4, or larger tables. A great start to our visit to Hastings old town. Many thanks to the staff who served us. Sorry, I am...
