Disappointing rude belligerent & unnecessary behaviour from the manager today at a children’s birthday party . I wouldn’t usually complain particularly about a local business however our group spent a lot of money on both food and drink during the party and to be treated like that at the end was not a particularly pleasant experience .Using H&S policy for not eating a birthday cake on the premises is not adequate enough reason particularly when a knife and candles were offered by staff for us to use and we previously taken a cake with no problems at all . I understand there is a policy in place on the premises and am not necessarily disagreeing with what was said originally however I feel additional training is required in people management as there was a much better way of dealing with that particular situation .rather than storming out and shouting aggressively at people when they were clearly doing as requested . The staff behind the bar were lovely and this is in no way aimed at any of them as they did a fab job particularly given how busy it was . The manager however was extremely rude to several members of our party which was unnecessary and has somewhat tainted the experience for some . Thankfully most of the children were out of the way and did not witness this so it didn’t overshadow their party experience which was just as well. Not sure I’ll...

We went as a group of 7 just before Christmas. We ordered food when we arrived and 2 games. The food took forever to come out and we were half way through our second game before it finally reached us. It was luke warm. I complained to someone that I was told was the manager and was offered replacement food. As we were close to the end of our session I declined and they offered me a refund. I accepted and they told me to return for the refund once we had finished playing. As I was leaving I asked for the refund and they handed me gift vouchers to the value of £30. Half of what I had paid. I said I wanted the refund I had been promised and I was told I was not entitled. This was the same person who had told me I could have a refund! They went and got the kitchen manager who said I would never have been offered a refund (I absolutely was) and that I had chosen not to eat the food or have it replaced when offered. The kitchen manager was rude and basically called me a liar saying that the temperature had been checked when it left the kitchen. The other person who I thought was the manager just stood there staring at me saying nothing, knowing the whole time what she had said to me. I did not want vouchers. Why would I go back to a place with such appalling service...

Booked to take our 13 month old, 11.30am slot for 2 hours, paid £9 for me, partner and the little one to enter. We were told on arrival that the kitchen was closed due to staff shortage, advised we could get some crisps or cake for our daughter. The baby area was a joke! I appreciate that the ball pit was empty due to covid, but there was nothing else to occupy the little ones...I would describe the area as a soft cage with an open door. As a result, our child spent her time doing laps of the restaurant & playing with her parents shoes.

We wanted lunch and play. In the absence of lunch or play, we decided to leave and asked for a refund, this was politely declined, citing restrictions and staff sickness at short notice (said he found out at 10am). When we booked, we gave our email and phone number, they had the option to tell us. Whilst declining to refund, they offered to make us a sandwich....a bit late by this point.

We finished our coffees and left to go and find lunch for our daughter. Waste of £15, won't be going back (£6 was for the coffees we ordered on arrival).

Don't normally complain or leave reviews, but no other...

We were a group of 6 adults visiting on a Wednesday evening. None of us had bowled for at least 5 years, most even longer, 15 years was common. I had booked beforehand via phone and was always greeted politely. I had to increase numbers from 5 to 6 people and this was not a problem. We were greeted warmly at Reception and everything explained to us. I had to write each person's name on a card and check box if bumpers required ( none for any of us). We checked footwear was suitable and where to select our bowling balls. The lane was ready for us to use and we were away. We made use of the bar for drinks, and had plenty of room for our coats and bags. We spent a very enjoyable 75 minutes playing one game. A really great evening enjoyed by all.

Had bean juice spilt over my white trousers today as my meal was being served. I’m not surprised as the plate was a tad overplated - see photo. Also, I would suggest the team don’t give a knife out to cut a birthday cake for a child’s 3rd birthday party, watch the guests all being given a piece, and wait until the guests are chomping delightedly away, then choose that time to tell all guests they will be thrown out if they don’t stop eating it as it breaks the ā€˜allergen’ policy. That situation could have been handled better by staff with a bit of forethought and diplomacy. Instead it just inflamed the situation. I shall be bringing my white trousers back to eat n bowl for a dry clean if the bean stain doesn’t come out!

A disappointing evening. Despite advertising that food stopped at 1930, they wouldn’t accept an order at 1915. They then refused us entry with chips from the neighbouring chippy saying that food is available in the venue, so we couldn’t bring our own in. When challenged about the closed kitchen, apparently crisps from behind the bar was sufficient. The duty manager then complained that a child dropped a crisp packet on the floor and proceeded to make a fuss about an innocent mistake. Genuinely, it was not a great experience and I won’t be repeating it. Do yourself a favour and travel to Cambridge or Stevenage instead.
