When we went the 1st time we tried out the lamb kleftiko - apart from being one of my favourite Turkish preparations, it was absolutely divine! Much enthused, I booked a table for the whole family only to be very let down by the poor standard of cooking and the lack of candour on part of the kitchen staff. Two of our dishes were heavily salty - I did not raise this initially thinking I was the only one finding it unpalatable. But when other members of my family mentioned the food was too salty, I brought to the attention of a second and very helpful waitress. She was considerate enough to get one of them taken off our bill, but the staff refused to rebate the second dish saying someone else at another table had just ordered it and not complained. I was quite bemused to encounter the obstinacy of a chef refusing to accept he could have oversalted one dish and not another. Being someone who regularly cooks gourmet meals (of many cuisines, worldwide) at home from scratch, this made me laugh and fume at the same time. My lovely Christmas treat for the family was ruined.. Will definitely complain after the first bite if there is a problem (if I even go there next time!!), and invite the staff to taste the food instead of accepting their word that oversalted...

Nestled in the heart of the city, New Bodrum Turkish Restaurant is a true culinary gem that transports diners to the enchanting flavors of Turkey. From the moment we stepped inside, the warm glow of ambient lighting, elegant décor, and the subtle aroma of exotic spices set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
Opting for a romantic date night, we were delighted by the welcoming hospitality and the impeccable service. The menu is a masterpiece, showcasing a symphony of bold, tantalizing spices and time-honored recipes. Every dish was an explosion of rich, layered flavors—warm, fragrant, and utterly satisfying.
The portions were wonderfully generous, offering excellent value for money. From the melt-in-your-mouth lamb shish to the delicate, perfectly seasoned mezes, each bite was a testament to the chef’s artistry. The baklava, flaky and dripping with honeyed perfection, provided the ideal sweet finale.
With its exquisite ambiance, remarkable cuisine, and outstanding service, New Bodrum is a destination we will undoubtedly return to. A must-visit for those seeking an authentic and luxurious taste of...
Read moreThere are now two Turkish restaurants in St. Neots and neither are bad. However, we do nip into Bodrum quite often. Unable to make use of the lunch offers, we visit for an occasional supper, and have not regretted it once. The layout is functional and clean with plenty of wood to add just the hint of the organic. The takeaway portion piggybacks onto the restaurant but does not detract from it at all but instead contributes to a more open plan feel. Being able to park just outside the restaurant is a definite bonus.
As for the food, there is a good range of starters (from deep fried falafel to gorgeous sucuk sausages) to a comprehensive set of mains including both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The meat dishes are excellent, accompanied by lovely rice or crisp and tasty Turkish bread (no, NOT pitta!!). Everything is well presented (with attention paid even to the baklava and ice cream), and more importantly the food is really quite tasty and served very promptly. Our genial host Nessimi adds a personal feel to the place.
As mentioned, we go there and will...
