What a lovely old pub, beer was good, inside was so traditional and reminded me of pubs my Dad used to use. Shame that when i was having a drink with my wife after a long walk the landlord talking to the only other customer (who he obviously knows) he was swearing every other word. I am used to being in pubs and hearing some bad language, but my wife wasn't impressed. Perhaps he needs to learn that customers dont need to hear this when visiting...

Always an excellent selection of real ales, and proper pork scratchings, not mass-produced Mr Porky stuff.
In the colder weather, the fires are lit keeping the place warm.
Music from the jukebox is rarely loud enough to be obtrusive.
No TV.
