Dope Burger serves the best burgers in the UK, and is a serious contender for best burger in the world (top 5 at least). This place beats Five Guys, Shake Shack, Almost Famous, Fatburger & any other of the smaller one offs and chains (think Patty Smiths or The Meat Shack). Don’t be put off by the takeaway vibe, this place is serious and worth every penny. This is coming from someone who has eaten at pretty much every famous burger joint the world over. Looking forward to seeing how their Juicy Lucy stacks up against the originals from Matts Bar & the 5-8 Club next.
———————————— The bellow is from a previous experience I believe to be a one off.
I ordered through the dope burger Leeds website and the order was rejected with no explanation, so I tried submitting the order again, rejected again with no explanation. The website also informed me that I had been charged for both rejected orders (£87) and that I could expect the refund between 24-72 hours.
I tried to call the store 6-10 times and could not get through, a couple of times it actually rang but wasn’t answered. I had no choice but to go to the store to discuss the issue.
Upon arriving at the store I was informed by the owner that the order got rejected because they were at capacity (obvious to see as the store was rushed of its feet). My question at that point was why take two lots of my money if they weren’t going to fulfil the order. The owner then tried to tell me that they hadn’t actually taken the money, and that it was simply ring fenced in the account. This is incorrect, the money has gone and I’m waiting up to 3 days for its return.
The online platform is badly implemented or miss configure. In what world does anyone anywhere take money for products or services that they choose not to fulfil and then return the money at a later date? It’s laughable. No other online service charges you before committing to fulfil the goods or services, not fast food, not online clothes shopping, not supermarket delivery, not Amazon. You need to get apps4u to fix this nonsense.
Having said all that, assuming this place does burgers the same as the other locations in hull then I can vouch for the awesomeness of the food. Just don’t use the website at busy times, you will be charged for unfulfilled orders than have to wait for your money to be returned with basically no way of getting any further insight because they are two busy to...
Read moreJust ordered from these guys for the first time tonight, and want to give an honest review.
After eating my food I then went to look at the reviews, and the bad reviews are all for massive orders. I think to rate them 1 star is a bit harsh, I’m sure dealing with a big order as well as individual orders is hard enough, and mistakes will be made because they are only human, and anyone with any sort of sense would understand this. Now with that out of the way…
I consider myself a sort of self certified burger connoisseur, having sampled burgers from different swanky joints in my area. The burger i received from dope burger tonight was a strong 9/10. They delivered on what most other burger joints can’t, and that is that the burger arrived to me warm, intact, solid bun and well held together. The taste was what you would want from a burger when you are craving one. Awesome.
The chips, at first looked a small portion to me. But once Out the bag, you soon realise it is plenty. I’d give the fries a 7/10, maybe a little too salty for my liking but that’s just personal preference.
I also had the blue cheese slaw. This was a nice touch, and as always with coleslaw it’s hit and miss weather it’s any good or not. But I would happily have it again.
All in all I will be ordering from this joint again, yes it maybe pricey but you definitely get what you pay for from these guys.
Bare in mind when reading reviews, that people are more inclined to leave a negative review than a positive one, and the slightest problem will make people want to leave a 1 star...
Read moreI ordered yesterday night at 17.02.2021 using Uber Eats. My order was Smoked Dope Burger, Sweet Fries and Rainbow Bagel Cheesecake. At first place, I was hesitant to order as I live in the city centre and the total delivery fee was 5.5£, but I said to myself that I would give a try for something different.
The burger was so juicy it was simply perfect. The bacon 🥓 crunchy and with an excellent overall taste was a celebration 🎈 in my mouth. I would like the potatoes to be a little bit crispier and bigger portion, but still, they are the second-best sweet potatoes I tried in the city. Next time I will try the toppings. Finally, the bagel left me with mixed feelings. I love the cream, but overall, there was something strange with the taste.
Bottom line, if you are around, do not miss it if you are in the city centre and have a car better to pick up on your own instead of paying 5.5£...
