My best friend and I decided to try this place out after seeing it several times on our way home from college! Service was quick and the prices are cheap for the quality of desserts! We didn't get any savoury items, just desserts. Chocolate éclair- £2.99 light and fluffy, cream is dense and the pastry is moist, good classic pastry Chocolate Cake Ball - £1.49 dense and moist sponge filled with raisins and covered in Chocolate ganache and hazelnut pieces (Not a personal favourite for us but good for those who enjoy a similar dessert to traditional Christmas cake) Turamisu - £3.49 very fluffy vanilla sponge dipped in coffee I belive, very airy and light, my best friend really enjoyed it! Double Chocolate cake- £3.49 dense fluffy cake filled with light chocolate moose and topped with a deliciously rich white chocolate butterfly decoration. As a German living in Leeds, I'm so glad I found this bakery! Apparently it wasn't specifically German bread I missed, but Central European bread. I regularly buy the delicious seeded sourdough bread, but have tried many different loafs and they were all good. Reasonable prices too. Other bakeries charge you twice as much for a similar bread by writing words like "artisanal" on chalkboards. I love how unpretentious Karpaty bakery is in comparison. That also goes for the customer service. I think some of the negative reviews can be explained with cultural differences. Just don't expect Poles to smile and call you love. So glad we found this local bakery. From the warm, friendly welcome at the front door, to eating the tasty goods later, it was just joyous. This is a proper, old school local bakery in not exactly the best high street in Leeds, it is, I promise worth a visit.

The very reasonably priced non-hipster sourdough is tasty, soft and easy to eat. The doughnuts are up there with pricey OTT ones you find in the city centre and the éclair was spot on. Looking forward to trying more.
