One of the best parks in Leeds. Entering the park from the eastern edge it can be a bit skuzzy around the skate park but there are more polish mums with prams than drunks with dogs.
Wander the beautiful tree-lined avenues and admire the wildflower beds - blooming right now. As you head westwards the park gets really beautiful. Stick to the ridge line for sweeping views over the municipal golf course, across Burley and Hawksworth on the other side of the valley and away to the moors. Keep going to the golf club house for views back to the city and then past the golf club it opens up for more views across the power substation to the moors.
Or head down to the canal for a wilder woodland walk along the water than you'll get from the towpath. It's cooler on this side. You can cross at the boat marina. Just as good as Roundhay...

Read moreAmazing park with great view on the city from above. It nice that you can enjoy the view from the top of the golf fields and the football pitch as well. It's not over decorated with status or over designed. It's the perfect escape to nature in the Armley area. Also it seems to be very nice park for dog walks, as everytime i go there, there are quite a few dog walkers which gives it's own beauty to the park.
It may lack in number of benches, but it definitely doesn't luck in beauty. 100%...
