The Dolphin — Local services in Leeds

After coming home from a holiday abroad all I fancied was fish and chips from the best fish and chip shop in the area. I say in the area but I travel from Liversedge each time which is a bit of a drive passing other fish and chip shops on the way. However not to be disappointed I arrived and Jerome was there as always with a smile on his face, along with his friendly staff, who always like a bit of banter while you are waiting. As always my order arrived and was piping hot and fresh, straight out of the pan. The chips were gorgeous and the fish was to die for, although at a very reasonable price, the fish is massive and the batter is so light and crispy (I would love to have his recipe for the batter but he won’t give it out). But as long as I can drive I will still be getting my fish and chips from here, as it’s so fresh and along with friendly staff and the wonderful service. What more could you ask for?

It's Great! Some of the best Jumbo Sausages and fish buttys I have ever had! Recently the ownership to this business has changed and I have to admit the food isn't as top-notch it used to be. Don't get me wrong it is still great and the best around the Drighlington area but it isn't my favourite.

There are no toilets but everything is hygienic.

No seating in areas and no benches either however a couple steps away there is a park.

The prices are surprisingly cheap 😉 and the kid meals seam very good for value especially the chicken nuggets (it as I call them...

The Trawler is my fave chippy, probably anywhere, but the Dolphin is not far off at all literally. Generous portion and tastes good, what more do you want? I do choose the Trawler over this place everytime, but if a very long queue or if they have run out of what I want, I am not disheartened popping into here.

If honest, when I have driven past The Trawler, I have hummed and arrghed for a chippy by looking at their building and smelling their food. Instead of turning around, I just pull up outside here. Never been...
